@ Kitami and Medi: You...You've never heard of the Dark-Hunter books!?

MedievalBeauty 04-03-2011 03:22 AM

That's alot of books Pearl. :)

Taiyo: Unfortunately I havent

TaiyoTsuki 04-03-2011 05:27 AM

@ Medi: They're really good. The manga I'm reading is based off of the Dark-Hunter series of books by Sherrylin Kenyon. My mom got into them via my cousin, and then I got into them via my mom. They involve a lot of mythology, mostly Greek. And the sex.....

`Kitami 04-03-2011 06:22 AM

Mythology and sex?
Sounds fun. Or kinky. Or both.

FeyonaSaibre 04-03-2011 12:07 PM

Kinky fun!? XD Sounds awesome!

MedievalBeauty 04-03-2011 10:48 PM

XD how amusing. I wonder if I should try and find it. I've been rereading this angel book I have, but it's been taking a while to read because I find it a little long. Not to mention that I'm not into this particular anymore. I need more books to read :(

Oh man! I totally forgot about that series  I need to get back into those

Kitami and Min - lol you guys. I've read 1 and a half of the series so far. They are pretty good. And Kinky and fun :XD

Beauty - What's your favorite genre?

PapillonCameo 04-04-2011 11:09 PM

What are these Dark-Hunter books about?

TaiyoTsuki 04-05-2011 03:29 AM

The Dark-Hunters are ancient warriors who traded their soul to the Greek goddess Artemis for immortality, and the chance to get vengeance on the one who wronged them. Some of the most notable Dark-Hunters are Kyrian, Talon, Zarek, Wulf, Acheron...you get the picture. The boss of the Dark-Hunters is Acheron, who's an 11,000-year-old Atlantean (whose ass I wanna squeeze), who's got a cute little girl of a demon named Simi. (Fun fact about Simi the Adorable: she LOVES BBQing things...and wishes she could do so to the "heifer goddess", aka Artemis.)
There's a bit of an out clause for the Dark-Hunters: only their true love can return their soul to them. Only problem is, Artemis isn't too hot on giving up the souls of her precious Dark-Hunters. Unfortuneatly, this rubs the wrong way with many DHs and Ash.
As for what the Dark-Hunters do...they fight Daimons. Daimons are Appolites who have started consuming human souls to prolong their own short lives (27 years, because Apollo has about as much brains as his sis in the books). So, the Dark-Hunters were created to protect humans. Since the Daimons can only go out at night, the Dark-Hunters are the same way. Same thing with the fangs; Daimons got 'em, so the Dark-Hunters have them as well. In short, they were given many of the same traits as Daimons in order to fight them.

Artemis is a bitch. As Acheron put it in the second book (the one with Talon and Sunshine), she's been "PMSing for 11,000" years.

MedievalBeauty 04-05-2011 04:03 AM

Car'a'Carn: I'm into fantasy books mostly. Like, vampires, psychics, werewolves etc etc.

TaiyoTsuki 04-05-2011 05:00 AM

Then the Dark-Hunters are a perfect fit for you.

RisikaFox 04-05-2011 08:17 AM

Hey! Anybody know of a good place to trade in old books? I have a ton I need to get rid of, and it would be nice to get more than 50 cents a piece at my yard sale. ^^; I've heard Annie's Book Swap/Stop doesn't exactly have the best trade in value though.

`Kitami 04-05-2011 08:31 AM

Kinky fun... -gives thumbs up-

Yeah, those sound really good. :O
But I can't remember ever seeing them in the bookstore.

Risika:: Cherry gave me a link to this website a while back. I don't think they buy books, but you can trade one of your books for another one.

Car'a'Carn 04-05-2011 05:43 PM

Beauty - Oh ok. Have you read the book series My Blood Approves?

Riskafox - Nope I don't know of any better place :( Maybe Amazon Marketplace?

Kitami - I ended up looking for digital copies of all the older ones of that series cause I couldn't find them in the bookstore.

KatMagenta 04-05-2011 05:53 PM

I've never sold any books online but I've bought books from AbeBooks before. I imagine the international sites are much the same as the UK one.

I was hoping to have managed more reading while I was home but hopefully Doctor Who book won't take too long so I can move onto the Lovecraft. XD

`Kitami 04-06-2011 05:07 AM

Carnie:: I'm going to have to do that with a couple of manga that I read, like MARS and Saikano. I have the first volumes of both (which themselves were bought secondhand) and I've looked all over the place but I can't find any further volumes for either of them. >_o Its a bit frustrating, honestly.

Kat:: You look very gentlemanly tonight. ^^

Car'a'Carn 04-06-2011 06:10 AM

Kat - Aw crap.. You just reminded me of the Weeping Angels episode... THANKS SO MUCH! :gonk:

Kitami - Hmm.. well I didn't see MARS or Saikano at the place I usually read Mangas online :( But I'm sure there is probably a torrent of them somewhere!

MedievalBeauty 04-06-2011 08:52 AM

Car'a'Carn: No, I haven't. Who's it by?

Taiyo: Ah awesome, will have to check it out.

Alaunt 04-06-2011 03:50 PM

I really do need to update my list . . .

How is everyone? Any good books you can recommend at this moment? I like romance, sci-fi, fantasy, occasionally history, and military based of the aformentioned genres.

Car'a'Carn 04-06-2011 07:36 PM

Beauty - It is by Amanda Hocking. There's something like 5 books in the series I think so far? I don't remember exactly. I've only read into the 2nd one.

Alaunt - I didn't even know you had a list in here! :XD

Alaunt 04-06-2011 10:32 PM

About three. :]

MedievalBeauty 04-06-2011 10:46 PM

Car'a'Carn: Ah awesome, will have to see if I can find it.

I finished another book called angel therapy. It's an alright read, but I've read it before lol.

Car'a'Carn 04-07-2011 05:20 AM

Alaunt - just 3 huh?

Beauty - They are pretty good. I kept getting sucked into reading them into the late hours of the morning >.<!

Alaunt 04-07-2011 05:33 AM

. . . My first one is on page . . . three, I think. Well, it's within the first six. Bleh! :P

Car'a'Carn 04-07-2011 05:35 AM
