Really can't comment on it yet. As I haven't gotten far. Sometimes John's books take a bit to really get going.
|
Ah, yeah. The only one I've read is Fault in Our Stars. >.>
|
Did you like it? I have many emotions about it...mostly involving tears.
|
I think I didn't actually cry during the book but I definitely cried during the movie. I liked it pretty well.
|
I didn't cry...much...during the movie. Mostly because I knew it was coming. I easily cry over books more than movies though. Always have.
|
I think I related to seeing their faces more strongly I guess. I'm the exact opposite, movies make me cry more easily. >.<
|
I read them all after reading Looking for Alaska in one sitting, and Paper Towns is my favorite one of his, but apparently I'm in the minority there.
The Fault in our Stars was very difficult for me to get through. It made me very sad. I have a thing where if something makes me very sad, my brain like....deletes it. I don't remember it. And I've read TFioS twice now and I only remember parts. I have no interest in seeing the movie at all. |
going to re read The Sweep series by Cate Tiernan (not sure about her spelling)

My Summer Reading List
Finally have time to go back to the challenge I started last summer! I still have about 1/4 of Betrayed to finish and then I'm debating what to read next. I'm considering starting the Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz as I purchased the rest of that series last summer, and I'm still boycotting the next book to the Vampire Academy series (Spirit Bound) after what happened in Blood Promise. While I love the House of Night series, I kind of need a break in between each book while I reread the books I owned before buying the rest of the series last summer (Marked - Untamed) because I feel that since I kind of know where it ended with the last book I read, I'm kind of trudging along while I reacquaint myself with the series in order to continue. :/ |

I remembered liking certain parts and really not liking others. But that's me with YA novels. It's always a love/hate relationship. |
I think the break was just what I needed from the House of Night series! I just sat down this evening and finished the rest of Betrayed in a couple of hours (got totally engrossed once I started reading it) - I think I'll pause again and read Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz, then alternate between that series and House of Night! Feels really calming and nice to be back into the habit of reading again! Been too long since I've had time! :(

Gonna just casually insert myself in here and make my 2015 book list. I don't know if I can hit 50 books -- right now my goal is 10 ahahaha. It's been a long time since I've been able to read on the regular and I'm trying to get back into the habit. Dates are when I finished reading the book (or gave up). Accompanied by my rating out of five, going by Goodreads' rating scale. (Not counting text books since I'm not reading them so much as desperately skimming them for the needed information, ahaha.)
Currently Reading: Confessions of a Mask / Yukio Mishima Read 1. Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch / Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchet :: March 10th :: 2/5 2. Dreamcatcher / Stephen King :: May 10th :: 3/5 3. Eaters of the Dead / Michael Crichton :: May 19th :: 4/5 Did Not Finish * Mass Casualties / Michael Anthony :: May 19th ---------- Post added 05-19-2015 at 03:21 PM ---------- Knerd: Posted my list for 2015 :) |
Currently re reading Vladimir Tod by Heather Brewer, Sweep by Cate Tiernan, War & Peace, I'm actually almost finished with it and I wanted something to read before bed (haha helps me sleep), True Blood (Sookie Stackhouse novels)

To be honest though I haven't been reading as much these past two weeks as I usually do. I feel so behind! [gonk] |
You have probably finished 3 times as many books as I have this year so far >.<
|
I'm currently on book 36. ^_^
|
I don't think anyone can be worse than me.. I've read 12 books this past year (the 11th will mark my one year anniversary), and 10 of them were read last summer between June and August xD; I have 57 on my current list!
|
Zig - [shock] you're kidding...
Emma - holy crap!! [:o] You guys read a ton more than I do >.< |
Haha! The amount is only because I read so fast - if I have time to just sit and read, it'll only take me a couple of days to read a book, sometimes only one day depending on how long I read for. :3 (I've read nearly every Harry Potter Book starting with Goblet of Fire in one day, two tops) I had a lot of time on my hands last summer and went through a huge reading kick!
The 50 Book Challenge :: Can You Handle It? - Page 494 Betrayed was nearly completed last summer but finished last month, and I read Blue Bloods last month as well and have nearly finished it. :3 I just wish I had more time! But right now I'm trying to get everything ready to start Nursing in August, so I haven't had as much leisure time to where I want to sit and read - I'd rather watch Anime in my downtime at the moment! So much reading etc. needs to be done for Nursing that I just haven't wanted to leisure read at all!! :( I'm hoping to get a few more books completed this summer though if possible :3 |
I get a lot of time in the train to read as well. And sometimes I read on my lunch break as well.
|
Lucky!! I have to drive for my commute so I don't have the opportunity to read during that time - I wish I had more time to read during the semesters though! It's really hard to find time, so then I get out of the habit of picking up a book to read, and then I find it hard to start back up. Usually by July I'm back on a kick of reading on a regular basis again, only to quit in August lol But it's really enjoyable when I get to - I'm hoping once I start working I'll have a little more downtime to read because I won't be reading textbooks outside of class every day!
