Thanks! Hopefully it's not too blinding of a yellow. [sweat]

I LOVED Uprooted, btw. Read it nearly all in one sitting, just could not put it down. [heart]

zigbigadorlube 01-03-2016 12:09 AM

It looks good to me! [yes]

OMG I'm so glad you liked it! I LOVED that book! The main character was so realistic and fresh!

Chexala 01-03-2016 02:02 AM

Guh, right? I liked her a lot too.

spoiler talk in hereX

I loved how she argued with the Dragon, and how her magic wouldn't work with his sciency, systematic ways (and how well their magics ends up complimenting each other later, hnnngg.)
Was also super happy with how they resolved the conflict with the Forest. Heal them wounds instead of destroying things all the time, am I rite ladies?

Lately I've been reading a manga called Ooko: The Inner Chambers, which is about an alternate-history Edo Japan in which a plague has killed off most of the men and women had to take over running the country. I'm on volume 3, and it's fascinating so far.

zigbigadorlube 01-03-2016 02:13 AM

SpoilerX

At first I thought she just seemed clumsy/stupid but kind of loveable but as she progressed it was really interesting to see how their magic differed and how their relationship developed. [yes]

That manga sounds pretty interesting!

Eastriel 01-03-2016 10:54 AM

Oh wow, I almost forgot that I had created a reading list for 2015. And I guess I failed the 50 book challenge because I definitely did not even get close to that many books read last year.

TaiyoTsuki 01-21-2016 09:55 PM

Can't beat them every time, I guess. *shrugs*

Velvet 01-21-2016 11:17 PM

I should have started this challenge a few months ago when I started the Game of Thrones series. [:P]

salvete 01-22-2016 11:46 PM

Finishing just one book nowadays is a challenge for me...

zigbigadorlube 01-23-2016 01:04 AM

I haven't been reading so much recently.

salvete 01-23-2016 02:22 AM

Same here. I think the 5 Book Challenge would be challenging, let alone 50!

zigbigadorlube 01-23-2016 02:06 PM

I'm sure I'll get to fifty before the end of the year but this is a slow start for me. ^^; I've been playing games and stuff more than reading in the subway during my commute like I usually do.

Chexala 01-23-2016 11:14 PM

I've got three things under my belt so far—a novella and two volumes of manga. I count manga towards my challenge, but I read them so fast, I also kinda feel like I'm cheating, haha.

salvete 01-24-2016 02:24 AM

I wonder if articles count towards this challenge, haha. I do read a lot of news articles.

zigbigadorlube 01-24-2016 02:25 PM

I've counted some manga in my list as well but it's not the bulk of it. ^^; I'm currently working on 3-4 different books that I keep picking up and putting down. It's not really like me to read so many things at once to be honest.

salvete 01-24-2016 04:16 PM

I usually do one at a time, maybe two at the most

zigbigadorlube 01-24-2016 09:14 PM

Same here. It's easier than juggling a bunch of different ones. [yes]

TaiyoTsuki 01-24-2016 10:44 PM

I usually read only one or two at a time. Usually it's something like a library book, and when I'm waiting for something to come in I stick my nose into one of my own.

salvete 01-25-2016 01:09 AM

I remember back in the day when my sibling and I would go to the library and borrow the maximum number of books each <3

zigbigadorlube 01-25-2016 03:17 PM

I used to get a ton too. The librarian knew me really well. XD
