That's great Dami :) What book is it?
I have some books I need to read first, required reading for my college course, before I can read the ones I want for recreation.

My ebook rental of Inkheart finally came in. I'm really not sure what to think of this book so far. I think it's more young adult than I originally thought. It's been pretty slow to start, I'm hoping it will get better though...

There's some books I like that're like that...but if they don't have a hook at some point in the first half, chances are I won't finish it.

I have a hard time giving up on a book completely, even if I don't really like it. I dunno why...

I've only given up on two books...one of which was in the Twilight series. Big surprise there; by some miracle I managed to force myself to read the first book all the way through, but the entire time I felt like vomiting. It took me almost TWO YEARS to finish it. I had to literally take a break from it every chapter or two and read something else for a while so I didn't get a headache.

To put that in perspective, I've been known to finish books of similar length in a matter of days.

Taiyo, you're a better person than I for finishing the Twilight book. I picked it up, read maybe twenty pages and then my brain refused to read anymore of it. Could not for the life of me find the will to read that book and I read Insomnia by Stephen King! Pretty sure Insomnia caused my insomnia.

Watching the Twilight movies was actually pretty entertaining, I laughed at the sheer ridiculousness of it all. Which pissed off my friend who is in love with those movies. She still hasn't forgiven me for it and that was two years ago.

I ended up giving up on Inkheart. It was just too slow for me. I looked a summary so I could still see what happened though. XD Has anyone seen the movie?

I was initially so excited to watch the Twilight movies because my friend had recommended the Twilight books to me even before they announced that there would be a movie. I also thought the trailer was intriguing. But the actual movies...I did not enjoy them. They moved too slowly for my tastes, not enough action...I did not finish them because of that.

Sal-E: It's actually in the same series as the Golden Compass. If I'm not wrong, Golden Compass is also called Northern Lights and is the first book. Amber Spyglass is the third.

I read that series. It was pretty good though I remember it being quite controversial.

I've never heard it called Northern Lights. It was extrememely controversial. And I had no idea until I was in the last book. xD

I've got the Golden Compass movie on DVD, but I've never read the books, despite having them in my collection. I keep on getting sidetracked by other books .

My boyfriend bought me the first two books of the Lazarus War series. I'm really enjoying it so far.
