Yeah, Darcy is a bit of a dick at the beginning. But as he explained (in, MY GOD THE LONGEST LETTER EVER *dies*) he meant well.
|
xD
Yeah, he was a total dick. Dx But...then at later parts...look at how he changes... :> And like Cherry said, for most of the stuff that he did, he had his reasons. >.> Besides, once I saw him portrayed in the movie....:heart: Any resentment I had left over for him was quickly melted away. xD |
I finished 1984.
The ending was sad. D: It was a very good book, though. I'm glad I read it. I've read Animal Farm. I need to read more of his books. |
Read some of Orwell's essaies, if you can find them.
"Shooting an Elephant" used to be required reading for my school. |
The only place I can find that currently available on a site I go to is in anthologies.
Here's the books I can currently get by him: http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/br...=George+Orwell (there's more than one page) I haven't heard anything about them, though, so I don't know which ones are worth getting and which might just bore me to tears. XD I think I'm going to pick back up Great Expectations now. ^^ Now that 1984 is out of the way, I'm in the mood for it. |
I want to read 1984...
Need to buy it. D: Eh...I think I'm going to go read Pride and Prejudice now. xP |
Definitely read 1984.
A few parts of it are slow, but they're not very large parts. It's very worth the read. |
Hrmm I should update my list. I've worked my way up to ChapterHouse: Dune.
On a kinda side note, should I keep putting up summaries of the book or should I try and include a link to a summary? I figured a summary was kinda helpful for anyone who hasn't read the same books and wanted a quick run down. I don't want to stretch my list to a crazy level with the summaries. |
-looks at her list-
I've practically made no progress since I last updated it. Well I am now reading Liszt's Kiss. Or rather I will when I find it. I have to clean up this room x.x EDIT: found it xD. ^.^ |
jessie:: What's that about? o.o
Title sounds neat. X.x |
*Tries to pronounce the title in her head* @[email protected]
|
@Kitami: hmmm its about a young pianist named Anne who gets swept up in the valor of the celebrity pianist named Franz Liszt. She then gets into a dangerous position and finds out a family secret that her father doesn't want her to know.
@Lura: trust me i dunno how to pronounce Liszt either xD. |
Think of it like "List," but with a z instead of an s. Or "Liz" with a t on the end.
Once you hear the composer's name, you won't forget it. |
Oooh...family secrets. >D
Sounds interesting. :3 |
I had an idea of how to pronounce Liszt, but adding the 's made it sound a bit tedious in my head. XD;
The book does indeed sound interesting though. 83 |
Whenever I try to pronounce "Liszt's" in my head, it sounds like I'm having some sort of seizure or something.
|
Congratulations Cherry, you made me laugh. xD
First time since this afternoon. -shakes hand- |
Hoorah for laughter! :D
|
Yes, its nice. xD
And mine has been lacking this week. :S |
Aww. D: I'm sorry to hear that.
|
Yeah... ._.
Well. I don't really know what's wrong... I think I'm just depressed. >_o |
PMS maybe?
I hate random depression. |
Sounds like something I would like to do. I'm always looking for a good book to read.
Next time I am on Ill start my list, because then Ill have a new book picked out. |
Does that mean I'm getting seizures every time I read a line of the book
Gahh the introduction is so boring. SPEED it up already! I like fast paced books if you cannot tell. |
cherry::Yes? No? I dunno. O.o
Whatever. I'm better today I guess. xD |
