Stardragon 01-29-2009 08:20 PM

That's good. Good luck. I'm just trying to get over a 100g so I can get a new item.

Elmira Swift 01-29-2009 08:33 PM

Hi everyone! Ryu, what are you trying to get - if you don't mind me asking?

Vickicat 01-29-2009 08:36 PM

Awwww huskies! I would love to have one, but they need so much exercise, I would probably only get one if I had a big backyard or extra time on my hands.

I've always thought huskies were beautiful dogs. It would be nice to have one but I feel like I shouldn't since their coats are thick and they're really meant for cold snowy areas and I live in Florida. I'm afraid the heat would bother it too much.

tigerangel 01-29-2009 08:43 PM

I think our dogs like the normally cooler weather where we live, but their favorite thing to do is sleep on the sofa I think.
I'm on my laptop, and they are sleeping on either side of me. :)

Bilbo 01-29-2009 08:49 PM

tiger, my favorite thing to do is sleep on the sofa too!

But I agree with Vicki that huskies would probably be more comfortable in a cooler climate than in Florida. That is also something people should be aware of when they are buying dogs--tiny little chihuahuas really don't belong in New England winters, even with clothes and boots (which are dumb IMHO). And big working dogs don't belong in tiny apartments.

Thoth Star 01-29-2009 08:50 PM

I'm good... Just reading my textbook off and on... bored.

I agree Vicki. I really like huskies too. ^^ Ironically huskies were the mascot of my elementary school. haha.

Hello bilbo, tiger, ryu & elmira~
Wow, full thread. XD

I actually think it's cute when people put little boots and sweaters on dogs. XD I know it's silly, but it just looks cute to me. But chihuahuas are so tiny I wouldn't want one out in the cold even with a thick sweater.

Actually Huskies do okay in sokme warmer weather too. Their thick coat works like house insulation, warm in the winter and coolish in the summer. I live in south carolina and I have three Huskies. I bought them a kiddie pool and filled it with water. It is so funny to see them splash around.

Stardragon 01-30-2009 12:03 AM

Do they swim or just splash around?

jecynecy 01-30-2009 12:56 AM

It is a kiddie pool so they just splash. But one of them will lay down in the water and splash it over her back like an elephant. it's soo funny to watch.

I didn't know that, thanks for the info! I'll bet it's absolutely hysterical to watch them int eh kiddie pool--although I don't want to know how often you need to fill it what with the splashing and drinking :P

Our huskies have not been in a kiddie pool, as far as I know. But last time we went camping we pushed them off the pier into the water. They seemed to like it a lot. :)
