I'm in SD but inland, not coastal. It gets well into the 100's here in the summer, too. Well, heck, it gets that hot in the fall and winter if there is a Santa Anna!

Bilbo 05-12-2009 06:02 PM

MAN is that hot! In Massachusetts it CAN get up that high, but rarely does. Then again, we have terrible humidity, so any kind of heat is gross.

Thoth Star 05-13-2009 01:02 AM

Yea I love to boogey board too, aoi... I wish I could spend all my time on the beach swimming and sun bathing... stupid school. lol. The beaches are kinda dirty in san diego but the water is really nice... I miss it actually.

Nice Gemini... I'm more inland too. I used to live along the coast far north cali but than I moved south. I'm still not used to heat. I hope this summer heat doesn't kill me.

Ugh, I hate humidity Bilbo. >< The humidity is really mild in cali...

Connielass 05-18-2009 05:53 AM

I think I'd like a summer house in Maine.
That'd be really nice.

Sally Sinema 05-18-2009 06:26 AM

Ugh! I can't take humidity at all, makes me feel sick and my hair turns into an afro. Not a good look on me, lol.

Connielass 05-18-2009 07:48 PM

Yeah, I have thick hair. Humidity makes it feel even heavier, and inevitably I get a headache from it.

FeyonaSaibre 05-18-2009 09:54 PM

Good morning everyone!

Thoth Star 05-18-2009 10:56 PM

Hello feyona & connie~ hows it going?

Vickicat 05-19-2009 01:51 AM

Weather.

I never notice humidity, I guess living in Florida all my life I just don't know the difference.

GeminiKizzy 05-19-2009 03:48 AM

I'm depressed. My friend's mare that I was riding until she got too preggers passed away this morning. She had her baby early this month and luckily the baby is doing okay w/out her...but we are all depressed.

Thoth Star 05-21-2009 12:05 AM

Oh no how did the poor horsey die, Gemini? D: That is really depressing... I love horses.

GeminiKizzy 05-21-2009 02:36 PM

She had a twisted gut since the baby was born but the mom was so distracted by the baby that she didn't show any signs. Two weeks later it got too bad to fix. Thank you for your concern, Thoth. *hugs*

Thoth Star 05-21-2009 11:09 PM

Ohh thats so sad. Of course Gemini. *hugs* I hope everything goes well with the baby horse... I bet she really misses her mommy.

Hi folks....I re-entered the dating game again.
Finding someone for an artsy, veg*n, athesist, asexual is extremely difficult. I'm starting to think that no matter how hard I look, there isn't someone for me...even if I compromise somewhere.
The easiest compromise would be if I were to change my sexual orientation to heterosexual.
In fact, I generally get so few hits that if I leave out being asexual on my ads. I'm afraid if people know, nobody will ever be interested in me.

I've decided to try the local gay and bisexual club if they'd accept me. I mean I'm not gay, but maybe it could work out.
I have an intimacy drive even if I have no sexual drive. Sometimes I call it the "cuddle drive".

Oh and top of being in all these minorities, I have trust issues and find it hard in general to have good judgment over poeple ( which is probably why I have trust issues in the first place)...When you don't make godo judgment calls, you end up with people who hurt you which is exactly what happened to me. I've gotten burnt a couple of times.
Somewhere there's probably a pysch. diagnosis for my trust issues, but I haven't found it yet. I have driven away a few people with being suspicious.
When you have a trust disorder, you often suspect someone has an agenda and will hurt or cheat you...and often they do which reinforces it. Thing is you can't sort them out correctly.
It's very easy to end up with a lot of shallow friendships when you have a trust disorder.

Connielass 05-26-2009 07:32 PM

I don't mean to sound rude or condemning in any way; I understand why people have trust issues.
It's been my experience, however, that the longer you live with lack of trust, the more paranoid you become about people having good intentions. If you have trust issues, you tend to look for things to go wrong, or look for 'signs' that aren't there. Then, when you're looking for things that don't exist, you find things that don't really exist. Then, it all becomes a vicious cycle.
I know how hard it is to win the trust of someone who is like that, so I won't try to tell you to start trusting people.

Vickicat 05-27-2009 03:19 AM

Dating.

Good luck. That is quite a list. I hope you are able to find someone. I think the asexual part will probably be the trickiest, there aren't that many out there and the ones that are out there probably won't fit all the other categories. I guess it will depend on how willing you are to have sex, if you decide not to put asexual. Since for many people sex is a big part of their relationship. It will be hard to find someone who won't want it often or be willing to go without it at all.

GeminiKizzy 05-27-2009 07:11 AM

Hey all! It's my 30th b'day today!

Connielass 05-27-2009 07:12 AM

Happy happy birthday!!
::throws confetti everywhere and pops open some booze::

GeminiKizzy 05-27-2009 07:14 AM

thank you, Connie! I'm still a little tipsy from out drinking w/the girls. Drunk typing is kinda fun.

Bilbo 05-27-2009 06:49 PM

HEHEHE @ drunk typing! Hope you've recovered.

Claudia 05-27-2009 06:58 PM

Happy B-day...

Being asexual seems to be my natural sexual orientation for better or worse. I'm not sure you can change your sexual orientation by choice. If there was a way, I would try it.
Otherwise I have no desire to subject myself to something that would only make me feel uncomfortable.
I could see forcing myself to engage in sexual activity driving me away from a potential partner as I would now associate them with something unpleasant.

I 've been wondering if I could potentially pull off a lesbian relationship better since the only thing I have no desire for is sexual intercource and I am highly attracted to other forms of intimacy. Then again...maybe I need to know what lesbians are really into ( possibly TMI?) .
I found a lesbian somewhat near by via a dating service who is vegetarian and seems to share my interests. I sent her a note from their "greeting " section of a mouse with a party hat saying "you have piqued my interest". I love that note card....

Michy Lea 05-27-2009 07:47 PM

Happy birthday, Gemini!

GeminiKizzy 05-27-2009 08:06 PM

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I've recovered from the drunk typing. Tonight we are going up to Disneyland.
