Yay! Doctor Who! That show can be a tear jerker.

GeminiKizzy 06-09-2009 01:18 PM

I LOVE Dr. Who! I can't wait for the new season to start in the U.S.

Connielass 06-10-2009 12:07 AM

Gemini, it won't be until sometime in 2010.
And Purl, I don't cry easily. The box of tissues and ibuprofen is because I've had a cold since the weekend.
::looks up Who on BBC news and Youtube to soothe withdrawal::

Edit: And! If you want to talk Who, come to the Who hangout!

AkashaHeartilly 06-10-2009 12:50 AM

I still have yet to watch Dr.Who but I know so many people who love it.

Connielass 06-10-2009 02:21 AM

:o
You're missing out on so much!!

GeminiKizzy 06-10-2009 04:39 AM

That show has so many twists and turns, random things, and lots of humor. It's awesome.

Lokis 06-11-2009 10:34 PM

Afternoon all hows everyone here?

GeminiKizzy 06-12-2009 04:11 AM

Aparently it's either slow or everyone is just really busy in the real world. I love your avi, Phoenix!

Connielass 06-12-2009 04:58 AM

::just spent the night and entire day with the boyfriend::

And.
Oh god.
It's probably nothing, but.

My boyfriend's friend just told me today while Mike was in the kitchen that the two of them were window shopping for rings.
The friend has no girlfriend of his own.

::gut is in knots::

GeminiKizzy 06-12-2009 02:46 PM

That would be awesome, Connie!

Connielass 06-12-2009 08:32 PM

Um.
Yeah.
After thinking about it for a while . . .
My boyfriend's . . . not in a position to afford a ring. I think. Unless he's betting on the extra money he'll be making with his promotion . . . .
:|

Thoth Star 06-13-2009 01:39 AM

He could still get you a plain ring Connie... or a wood or shell ring. That would be pretty.

Connielass 06-13-2009 01:51 AM

Yeah. Anything would be nice, either way.
We've been together going on four years now . . . And I'm 25. That bell is ringing inside my head.

AkashaHeartilly 06-13-2009 03:10 AM

Speaking of rings like that. I've always wanted a guy to buy a ring from one of those quarter machines and propose to me that way.

But aw, sweet. He could always see about a traditional family ring that has been passeed down, just a thought.

Unfortunately, neither one of our families has anything like that. If we want that kind of tradition, we're going to have to be the ones to start it.

Thoth Star 06-14-2009 11:48 PM

Four yrs is a pretty long time, Connie... I've never been in a relation ship for that long.
Do you want to be married?

That sounds really romantic, Akasha. ^^

My moms marriage ring was passed down a few generations...
Problem is it was stolen 10 yrs ago.

Connielass 06-15-2009 01:09 AM

Oh yeah, definitely I want to get married!
It's just . . . bothering me!
Is it going to happen soon? Is he going to make me wait? Will he even ask?!
Okay, scene:
Me, laying on one couch.
Friend, sitting on the other.
Mike, fiddling with his glasses.

Friend: Hey, Mike, did you tell her what we were doing earlier?
Mike: *no response, keeps fiddling with glasses*
Me: Why, what --
Mike: Oh, I forgot to feed the cats!
Friend: So anyway, Con, yeah, you will love my mom's garden, it's like a jungle!
Me: *confused*

--Fast forward to five minutes later--
Friend's about to leave, Mike's in the kitchen.
Friend: Hey, Con! We were lookin at wedding rings. *shouts bye at Mike, dashes out the door*

--Fast forward to half hour later--
Mike and I are alone, getting comfy to watch a movie.
Me: *casual curious tone of voice* So, what were you guys doing earlier?
Mike: *says nothing*

I am confused and frustrated.

FeyonaSaibre 06-18-2009 05:15 PM

Sounds like a typical male responce when he doesn't want to talk about it. My advice? Don't push it. Let it be... and when he's ready, he'll talk about it. My fiancee was acting pretty strange right before... and he did actually ask me to go get my ring finger sized before he ordered it. *laughs* so I knew it was coming but it's the waiting that's the hardest part. Once that's over it's a lot easier. Trust me... give it time and you'll be all right!

Bilbo 06-18-2009 05:51 PM

I agree. As much as the waiting sucks, you have to be patient or you'll make him too nervous, which will make him procrastinate more.

Connielass 06-19-2009 03:59 AM

Yes, this I know. And I'm rather known for my patience.
Agreed: waiting IS the hardest part. Right now, timing just isn't right, and he knows it. Though I know my answer, we would still have to wait.
Waiting it is, I guess.
Still, whenever I think about it, Mini-Me inside my head keeps going :squee:
::glares at mental photo of boyfriend's friend:: :illgetu:

FeyonaSaibre 06-19-2009 11:56 AM

*laughs* I dunno if that's worse or him basically telling me himself. Like I said, he had been acting funny... he was going through a list of things that he bought because we had lost track of our money that month and one of the things he listed off was... "something from online". He wouldn't tell me what it was but it was shortly after he asked me for my ring size. Either later that night or later that week (I can't remember) we went over to a friend's house... she was actually the girl that intruduced us in the first place. She was dating one of his friends at the time. He showed her what it looked like and made me stay inside her room while he got online and showed it to her. But he wouldn't tell me why I was staying there in the first place... lol... I pretty much knew what was coming... but I didn't expect it at all.

He's not big on romance... but he had me so off gaurd when he did it. I was in the middle of filling out an online application and I was on the last question... he asked me to turn around and look and I was so shocked and stunned I think it took me 30 minutes before I finally went back to my computer and answered it... LOL.

Connielass 06-19-2009 02:50 PM

Yeah, and one of the things I hate, in general, is that I like surprises. I like (most of the time) being surprised.
But my boyfriend canNOT hold a secret. He always tells me what his mom got me for a present, and it's so annoying!!
I will be very surprised (ha!) if he actually manages not to tell me about it if he buys a ring.

Bilbo 06-19-2009 02:50 PM

That's so awesome and sweet!!!

Angel Spirit Girl 06-20-2009 03:30 PM

Mind if I join in? I'm well over 21.

I don't really plan on getting married myself. I'm too much of an old maid.

Connielass 06-20-2009 05:31 PM

Oooh! I love your avi outfit, Angel!
