strange_dreams_512 03-15-2011 10:57 PM

` T O K Y O 03-16-2011 02:22 AM

@Fading Existence: same here!
@strange_dreams_512: I've become atheist over the past few years but I wish them the best and hope that they could get as much help from the world as possible.

@Chingcha: yay your username is catchy.... is it suppose to mean anything?
@strange_dreams_512: ???

Chingcha 03-16-2011 02:45 AM

@ strange_dreams_512: well, it started with the samurai of japan..then it kind of grew to yea, asia in general.
@ TOKYO: Not really, it was a random thing that popped into my mind while I was trying to create a sn for another site and wanted something not anybody could think of ...it's the words "cha ching" switched :P

Antagonist 03-16-2011 06:03 AM

@Strange: I don't pray, but I do hope that they'll be okay and recover soon.

@Tokyo: Yay, fellow Chinese! :)

@Chingcha: I thought it was for '輕巧', or 'feathery light/dexterous'. :lol:

Chinese, it's very much an ancestrial background and culture because even my parents did not grow up and were not born in China.

But at home we speak Mandarin and culturally we live a Chinese lifestyle, at least as much as you can living in Western society.

It's awful what's been happening in Japan recently. I really hope things get better sooner for the survivors.

` T O K Y O 03-16-2011 07:29 PM

@ Chingcha: haha didn't see that one coming =D
@ Fading Existence: Were you born in China?
@ Ling: Wow you're parents weren't? I'm surrounded by Chinese people who immigrated here >.< A very few of them were born here, but definitely not their parents.

Antagonist 03-17-2011 02:07 AM

Nope. Never been to China. :sweat: (I don't suppose the brief couple-hours-long stay at the Hong Kong airport while waiting for a transfer flight counts :lol:)

I was born in the states, but I've lived in Taiwan for the majority of my life. :) (still am, actually...)

Ling 03-17-2011 12:48 PM

My parents were born in a South East Asian country. And consequently grew up there too.

124312 03-17-2011 01:04 PM

Hello everyone. I'm not an Asian, but I love Asian things, so hello!

` T O K Y O 03-17-2011 03:36 PM

@Fading Existence: I thought Taiwan is like...separate now -is confused with the whole Tw/China thing I remember people always argue over this haha.

@Ling: Does the people there speak Mandarin or Cantonese?

@fire dancer: helllo :DDDDD

Antagonist 03-17-2011 04:02 PM

And they're still arguing over it. XD
I personally don't care either way...as long as the people are living happy and no war happens. >.>

strange_dreams_512 03-17-2011 10:34 PM

Yeah, lol. Stay safe -patpat- :3

If you're referring to the South East Asian Country that my parents came from, I'd have to say neither. Hehe, they came from Cambodia, where most of the people that live there speak Khmer.

` T O K Y O 03-20-2011 03:02 AM

Ling: I guess Asians (especially Chinese people) are really everywhere :D
Fading Existence: Yeah I agree. I mean, I'm half way around the world =P

Antagonist 03-20-2011 06:38 AM

I'm living there/here, so there's going to be a problem if a war breaks out...:XD;;

Ling 03-20-2011 07:44 AM

I once went to Beijing, and they have this unfinished structure of a rainbow there. Apparently the story goes that one side was built when Hong Kong was returned to China from British rule and the other side was build when Macau was returned to China from Portuguese rule, the middle which has yet to be built will apparently be built when Taiwan once again is part of China.

Antagonist 03-20-2011 07:48 AM

lol Interesting, I've never heard of that before. o.O

Maybe I'd visit China someday just to see it, even if I'd made a vow to never step foot in the land. XD (a little phobia of mine, nothing political, after seeing one too many Taiwanese tourist/businessman who got mobbed/robbed/killed/etc on the news...it sort of made me paranoid even if I knew logically that these things often happen everywhere on the planet and not just China)

Ling 03-20-2011 08:05 AM

Yes it is somewhat interesting isn't it.

But yeh, we were warned about the pick pockets when we went to Beijing, and I guess because there's so many people in crowds over there (and I presume the rest of China) I wouldn't be surprised if there were more criminals than elsewhere. There are lots of horror stories about what happens to tourists that go to a lot of places though..

Antagonist 03-20-2011 08:09 AM

Yeah. And watching a bunch of those Air Crash Investigations series on Discovery made me paranoid about flying in planes too...:sweat: I'm way too pessimistic...

Ling 03-20-2011 08:11 AM

Have you ever been travelling overseas?

Antagonist 03-20-2011 11:03 AM

A few times, yes. I didn't mind sitting on an airplane before, but after watching all those shows, I started getting more and more nervous and tense when aboard.

Ling 03-20-2011 11:31 AM

That's rather unfortunate.
