No no! XDDD
A girl in her class is from Sweden and she got bored one day and asked her to teach her some Swedish. It's just motivation for me since she's learning it. We can bounce it off each other.

Ok, first off, the only reason I know some Japanese names is because I was once an anime freak and would name things Japanese words.

White and black puppy named Ushi because she looked like a dairy cow. Black dog named Kuro (which supposively means black). My sister's funny play on words by naming her cat Inu. I have already forgot how to say frog but we once had a dog named frog in Japanese.

Many many pets named after anime characters. Remember the cat Inu? Well, his name was really Inuyasha. We just called him Inu. Yeah, we are cruel. Cat named Faye (Cowboy Bebop), rabbit named Ed (Cowboy Bebop and FMA), the list goes on.

And even funnier, the words I really remember and will never forget are the ones attached to me and 5 of my friends. I am tora, Hannah is nomi (or annoying flea...which ever we wish to call her), El is neko, Ash is inu, Brandon is washi (which means eagle or Japanese paper...yeah, let's go with eagle), and Tammy is shi (which means either 4, death, loss, poem, city...we took it to mean death). We used a Japanese-English dictionary to translate these.

Now the reason for the Japanese nicknames...we like to write. It has to do with our very first characters. Mehi Tora (mine) was an ice tiger demon. Kitta Keyara (El) was a fire panther demon (we still call El Kitty, Neko, Cat, and Kit). InYa (Ash) was a dog demon (the characters correct name was InuYashu, yes named after Inuyasha because the character was supossively some sort of incarnation of Naraku made using Inuyasha's blood and Inuyasha called InYa his sister...ok, I admit it. We wrote fanfiction, but at least we had a blast doing it). Shi Fushidara (Tammy), well, her's is complicated. We named her character strictly on her part in our first story. The character was out to kill the woman she thought had stole her husband. Shi means death (like I said) and when we origianlly came across it fushidara supposively meant loose morals...can't seem to find that meaning in my dictionary any more. Oh, yeah! Rika Ketera, or Baby, (Hannah) stupid human character who was as annoying as a flea (we sometimes called her Myoga the flea girl, man were we ever stupid) who is the girl Shi was trying to kill. And lasting Keo Keyara. Kitta's brother, (Brandon) was some how a storm eagle demon but still blood related to a panther. I never fully understood that one.

Ok, I am done boring y'all now. Back to your regularly schedule thread chatter.

Lawl. Aww not an anime freak anymore? :P
I'm just poking fun at you. -pats-

I doubt your pets really mind what you call them as long as you're meeting their needs.

That's kind of neat though. You and your friends having nicknames like that.

Seems like you had fun with the fanfiction too. Don't worry, I don't think anyone will blast you about it. Once upon a time, I wrote an InuYasha fanfic myself. :XD

Well, I am still kind of an anime freak. I mean I am still called a freak and I still love anime, lol.

My pets needs were always taken care of. They didn't want for anything.

Yeah, I still call Hannah baka nomi and she still calls me baka tora. We are the best of friends. In fact, most of us are still known by our first character's names. I am still called Mehi (*points to username*), Hannah is still Baby, El is still Kit, Ash still InYa, Brandon still Keo, Gunnar is still Chonu, the list goes on. There was around 10 or 12 of us. Some of us still write, but it is harder now that we are out of high school.

My first fanfic was started by Hannah and myself. We didn't even have a plot. We just went with what wa given to us by the other. It ended up very poorly written with well rounded, amazing characters, still absolutely no plot, two characters were knocked out and we forgot about them, ended up crossing over characters from Inuyasha, Trigun, and Yu Yu Hakusho, two characters got pregnant, all of the guys were drafted into the military, drunken mayhem on every page, there was even an almost rape scene. The fun places our minds went when there was no plot directing our movements. Eventually we also got El, Tammy, and Gunnar in that one. We stole the characters of all our friends for it. They didn't mind.

That one story lead to a mass of stories from us. We wrote 8 or 9 stories in the course of four years. One year we had 5 of those stories circulating at one time. We never had a plot, just a general idea for the beginning. El and myself were known in our group as the plot twist queens. They hated when we got the stories beacuse we would write 10 to 20 pages together before passing them along. And if we thought the plot was getting to boring, here comes a new plot twist. We made the craziest things happen.

Although nothing beats what Ash did in one of them, though. She wrote one little paragraph and got herself banned from writing for two weeks. El and I did not know how to fix what she did and almost panic because with one tiny paragraph she basically ended the story. That was fun.

Gah, I write way too much. I am so sorry!!

Wow that's a lot of you. But I suppose it can be more fun that way~
Yeah.. it's hard to do a lot of things once you're out of school..=\

Goodness. What imaginations you guys have!

Haha, I have noticed you do the same thing I do. And if one is not carefully following the conversation, he or she would get very confused, lol.

Educational, yes, I have learned a lot about the Japanese culture and legends because of anime. Because of the animes I watched, I started researching Japan and its history past what little we learned about them in history class. The sad thing is all we learned in history class was that they were horrible people who tried to spread terror in America by bombing Pearl Harbor because they were afraid we were going to attack them for siding with Germany in WWII. I learned on my own that Japan was one of the last modern countries to become modern because they closed all of their ports down and refused to let anyone in. Well, at least they only let a very small number of people in, and because of that they still to this day have a lot of their old culture preserved. My love of anime lead me to do my 11th grade research paper on the Japanese religion of Shinto. I learned all about thier temples and how almost everything in the temples had a symbolism and a history. My friends and I even start a high school club (that did not survive afer we left) based on Asain animation, art, and literature. The club was really just a clever why to allow us to read manga and watch anime at school, although we did teach other members about the history of Asain animation, art, and literature in the process of indulging in our favorite hobbies. Fun times.

It was tons of fun. Those that went to the same college I did tried to keep the sotries alive and going, but it just wasn't the same. Only three of the originals went to the same college. One moved about three hours away, one moved to a completely different state (even though she is back now), and the rest...well, we just don't knwo what happened to them. They kind just melted away it seems. And yes, we have grand imaginations. I would tell you about Ash's incident if I thought it would interest you.

What's that I'm doing? :O
Replying to each paragraph/break? I thought plenty of people do that...

Ah. I learned most of what I know from reading books. But I learned little bits through anime. Most words/phrases. Like uta and utau. :P
Yush, Japan is/was a very closed nation. A true island nation.
That's neat you made a club. I kind of wish we had something like that in my school though I doubt I would have joined anyway.

Yeeah. It's kind of sad when things change like that. -sigh- But such is life I suppose~

Yeah, tons of people do, but not many that I talk to do it without clearly referencing what was previously said by the other person leaving thier own post pretty vague in regards to what is being talked about. Then agian you don't have to be that specific now since it is only us talking.

Some how I don't feel like responding to the rest of what you said. Not being mean, but that is one of the things that when it started happening in our stories where the stories were progressing far too slowly, El and I made a plot twist. Since this isn't a story, I will just say something else....

Boy, the sky sure is blue today! ...What am I talking about?! It is pitch black outside!! There is no blue sky at midnight!! Lol, I am so silly sometimes.

So why exactly were you originally drawn to this thread?

Haha that's fine. Thanks for being straight forward~

Lmao. The sky is blue for someone! When the sky is a particular shade of blue it makes me feel like I'm having a panic attack.

Because I'm Asian and I like some Asian things. =3

I learnt random Japanese terms through watching anime. I wrote fanfiction when I was in high school as well. Most of them were one shots, and all but one is finished...I keep telling myself I'd go back to it even if it's just for the satisfaction of finishing it....even if it's kinda terrible.

That would be extremely frustrating I usually like to write, draw or just tell people my ideas, if they make sense, or can be built upon then I might do that too.

Yesss it is. @[email protected]
I'm not big on writing but I get the urge to write short stories sometimes. It's not a big enough urge to attempt it, but it's persistent enough, with my current ideas lasting over a few years now.
Drawing ideas are hard for me since my drawing level isn't up to par on my ideas. But that comes with practice.
Poetry urges are usually easy to fulfill and photography/modeling ideas are hit or miss. :XD

Sheesh! I make myself dizzy.

Oh, that doesn't seem like a very nice thing to say. At least you are Asain. I am just the annoying by product of Japan distributing its goods outside its boundaries. I hear in some Asain countries, Japan in particular, mad anime fans are looked down upon bad. That is sad because I am not just an anime fan. I am a Japan fan. I think Japan is wonderful, even with the "bad" things some Japanee people have done. We all make mistakes, right?

If they aren't Asian to those people, what the heck do they consider them? Those people's logic is not very sound no matter what the reason. Yeah, I meant like otaku. I am not really an otaku. I don't watch anime just because it is an anime, critique said anime, complain about critiques of said anime that differ from my views, and memorize the personal profiles of all the characters of said anime including their blood type. That just seems really unnecessary to me. Maybe it is just because I am a stupid America who is white as a sheet. I mean really, what purpose does the characters blood type really serve? I have never went that indepth on the characters for my RPs. That just seems silly to me. Errrr...some how I went from otakus are boring dull people with no lives and ended up at blood typing fictional characters are stupid. The way my mind works, ne?? Lol!!!

Blood types is another personality indicator. Obviously not as widely used in the West.

lol, I had something to say but it got lost somewhere in my head.
I think it was something about anime. Or maybe something about Japan. Who knows? o-o

I used to write RPs with my friends in middle school. In high school we kinda changed from that to drawing on our own, and then it kinda died off as we took it on our own directions. It is cool you guys could create so much, even if you didn't really have much direction in where you were going. I totally get that "pass the notebook" idea. Been there x3 And no lol we won't judge you for that. Or for being white. It is okay :B Not like you have control over it anyways xD What could we be upset at?

Many of us have been into anime at one point or another, and many of us at least lightly touch on it now and again. (^-^)
No matter what you consider yourself for your interest in Japan, I'm not sure it should -define- you, as more be a part of you that you choose how it grows (=. Where you branch out in anything is up to you. Let's just hope it's all legal, lol. xP

Personally I am heavily interested in linguistic anthropology, psychology, and creative visual designs. Blood type, by the way, does play a role in that xD. Just as there are theories that you are a certain way because of your birthday, or the way the stars align, there are theories that you are a certain way because of the blood that runs naturally through your veins. In a sense it is puzzling but in everything else, I guess you could say that we just want to understand ourselves, and this is a shot at it that (although not in every case) has appeared to work for a large enough group of people, that it stuck as a method to determine more about ourselves .

What kind of things are in your highest interest? (^w^)
[Lol, it looks like my thoughts came back to me xD]

Ahhhh, nope, we do not use blood types to indicate personality. We indicate the personality. It makes much more sense to me to just show the personality of the character. I don't see how me being B+ indicates my personality at all. I know plenty of other B+ people and our personalities are completely different.

Dreams, what kinda of things do you mean?? Like music, hobbies?? Sorry, I am easily confused....

That's fine if you don't understand it or even agree with it, but don't be so harsh about it. =\
It's no different than astrology, numerology, and whatever else there is. I've met plenty of people with my own signs and we weren't similar at all. But I don't have a vendetta against astrology or anything.

In anime/manga/cartoons in general things are often very cut and dry or black and white. You can use Blood type and other personality indicators because you have complete control over the characters. It's not meant to be like real life. o_o
It's just easier to use them because it makes things simple.

Who is "we"? : o lol I'm easily confused as well. xD
As for fictional characters, it is more of a love match sort of thing as far as I am concerned. For example, to see if your blood is compatible with one another if you needed to be a donor for the other some day. But there are also people who go heavily into research on how it is connected to personality. I don't 100% agree with it, but consider it more for fun than anything. Just a heads up though, some people are serious believers of it : o

I guess I mean in hobbies/interest. Music works as well, if that is a big thing for you ^^
