Oh. That might explain it LOL.
that's really cool though. You should take a picture and post it! I like to do needlework when I want to relax from something stressful or something like that. It's good that you're doing embroidery. I don't really hear a lot of people doing that kind of needlework that much. So I don't know if anyone's aware but tomorrow is Knit In Public Day! Knit In Public! |
Oh wow... I didn't know they had that... Knit In Public Day... now I REALLY want to learn how to do that... XD Thanks... I really like embroidery, and it makes me laugh when I see people staring at me when I do it in public... which makes me like doing it even more. You made it sound like you don't embroider anymore.. but you still do, awesome. My camera doesn't work right now.. plus since I"m still just a beginner, my stitches are very rudimentary and not at all pretty... |
I've been knitting and crocheting for a year now. I started last summer out of sheer boredom, and continue it because it has truly become a hobby for me! :D Right now I'm sort of in a knitting and crocheting rut, though, and I do not know how to get out of it.
I'm just curious, here; there is an online knitting\crocheting\spinning community called Ravelry. Who here belongs to it? And my apologies if this has already been brought up, but I did not really feel like slogging through twelve pages of posts. |
oh oh oh! me me me!
i'm on ravelry! my username: kimosabe001 what's yours? what do you knit/crochet? |
Hey there, nice to find a fellow Raveler on here! My username on Rav is Nephilim. I'll knit and crochet pretty much anything, but it is a shortage of both yarn and money that prevents me from doing this. :( This makes me very sad.

Floss is pretty inexpensive, so I never have to deal with money issues... Goblin, do you live near a Joann's? If you sign up with them you can get coupons by mail... |
joann's<3
i wish i lived by one. it's like a 40 minute drive for me. |
Well... that's not really far... >.>' Well... I guess I'm just used to driving long distances. XD Anyways, next time you go to Joann's, sign up for the mail thingie... Then you can take a trip every month using the coupon to get the things you need. Its really good, since sometimes you get coupons that give you a discount on your WHOLE purchase. |

I've picked up so many of those free knitting patterns in my local craft store, and no time or supplies to start on them. There's one in particular, a lacy shawl, that I really want to try, but, as stated above: no money, no time, no supplies.

OMG.
I want to knit this so badly! http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/images/cleavesALT.jpg Isn't it gorgeous? It's a combination of sleeves and a cowl, perfect for autumn weather. |
That looks awesome, and so totally now. If only I knitted ...

finished my second ever attempt at knitting yesterday. It's Sackboy, from the PS3's LittleBigPlanet game! He took me 2 days to knit and one to put him together :) here he is in pieces: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/DSC00818.jpg and here he is finished: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/DSC00831.jpg Isn't he adorable? :) now i've got the knitting bug, and i just want to knit lots of cuddly toys. My cousin had a little girl last christmas eve, so i've got a little baby to make stuff for at least ^_^ |
omigosh!!!!
that's so adorable!!!! i absolutely love itt!!!! right now i'm only working on a regular garter stitch scarf. but! it's being made out of bamboo yarn! softest yarnn =]] |
I'm glad people are posting here again!
captainsavvy, he looks really sweet. I'm not familiar with the game, but he's the perfect little stuffed companion. Kind of like a knitted sock monkey. |
SOCK MONKEY!!
Exactly!! That's what it made me think of. Me? Yesterday, I browsed a lot of LionBrand's free patterns, and found a few I might want to knit. The only problem is that I need the money for supplies. And I just got a second job, so time will be come progressively limited with the holidays coming up. At this juncture, I know I'll still have a lot of free time to kill while manning the register at the mall kiosk part of the store, but I'm too new to try and do my knitting on company time. Well, anyway, here are the patterns: fingerless gloves splendid triangle shawl - I've got my heart set on buying a whole lot of the Herb Garden homespun. That is my most favorite green yarn I've seen yet. green living tote - The only part of the pattern that confuses me is how you join the base to the body of the bag. Shell lace bolero - kind of intimidates me to be trying something you actually put on for the first time, but I really really want to do this one and it'd be perfect to wear to my new job!! But I'd substitute something softer, instead of using Vanna's Choice. It's not as soft as they'd like to think it is. Maybe more homespun. Non-LionBrand, but still cool: Amelia lace shawl - This one I would wrap around my neck a couple times so that it lays loosely draping on my shoulders, then hold it together with a nice big pin or one of these. Swamp Witch - I have a feeling this would take me a while and cause not inconsiderable grief in the making. But I would wear it the same way as the Amelia shawl. |
fall knitty is up! ::does a happy dance:: http://www.knitty.com
they have a new layout - less magazine-y. i absolutely love hex and hydrangea, and am dying to try the hatheel sock. oh, and, hi. ::waves:: nice to meet you all. otn: traveling stitch legwarmers from knit so fine. the pattern page, if you're on ravelry. no photos of my own yet. |
I just saw this thread. I've actually read a lot of the Stich 'N Bitch books. I haven't had time to do any of their projects, but I really love them all >_< I'm still a beginner at knitting, so to be honest i only know how to knit, and none of the other fancy stitches like purl or anything. So I am gonna try to learn those as soon as I'm done knitting a scarf for my friend ^^
I'm so happy their are other knitting lovers here! |
ugh, you remind me i have to get back to knitting this baby blanket... i only have a month to finish it and i don't even have all the supplies...
|
I'm so happy I found those US15 needles. The wrap I'm working on is proceeding apace. Not as fast as I would like it to go, but fast enough, I think. Still the same old complaint though: not nearly enough time to suit me.

Hey fuyumi_saito! Welcome aboard.
I love knitty, I always drool over their patterns. They just always seem to get pushed to the back of my list. I just bookmark them and keep on dreaming. |
lol, same here really XD *Points at books marks* I also have sewing projects and necklace making bookmarked stuff too >_< so much stuff. I still have to make my holoween costume too. I wonder if theres a ninja thing that I could knit for it..or a fairy thing. I'm gonna be a ninja fairy princess <3..Or I'm gonna try to be at least lol
