I haven't read them, will have to add to my "To Read" list. I like OZ too, but never really got into them as much, although I do want to re-read them no I'm a little older.

Baum wrote the books to give a strong female to look up too. Which explains how the males acted. I liked the series a lot.

What about Twilight con? The fact that some people are sadly willing to shell out that mnuch money for not even meeting the main people who had anything to do with the books or movies.

I am definitely going to have to get my hands on the OZ books (I read a few of them as a kid), probably after the semester is over.

I think the whole idea of Twilight Con is ridiculous. Anyone that is going deserves the disappointment.

My roommate was bored and asking about Twilight, so I loaned her my girlfriend's book (it's at my place). Yesterday she told me that it's probably her favorite books ever! I don't know if I can take her seriously ever again.

I've never read Twilight. I only heard about it online. There may be fanatics in America who go to conventions... but in the UK most people hadn't heard of it or cared until the film came out.
Nobody cares about it even now!

I doubt I'll read Twilight or see it, since I really dislike vampire stuff. I shouldn't as it's my ethnicity's folk tale but perhaps I just don't like what the West did with it.

Not all of us are idiots, believe it or not, there are those of us who see other cultures as a way to learn and expand our horizons. However, we are vastly over shadowed by the dumbasses. *sighs* Such is life.
Yet, I can't apologize completely because all other nations think everyone in the West doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground, but thinking that way just furthers horrible misconceptions. Too bad there is no giant eraser to expunge the terrible unjust actions lobbed by both sides.

FYI Guivre, although most vampire stories are focused on the vampire of Eastern European legend, many cultures had/have their own vampires--both the Americas, many Asian cultures.

Good luck questing for them. Not too mention there are so very few of them, there was only 250 of us on at that time and we couldn;t get seconds of the items.

I sold my bow, lollipop and sash, just were not my favorites of the 07 V-day items. Never giving up my belt, pin and necklace though.
