Obama is a politician, he can't help but be a big huge liar. I do hope that he's less of a liar than other politicians though. And, people are so hopeful with him in office, it's got to do some good. It'll take a while, but we'll get out of this.

Me too Akasha... My mom called me yesterday after the layoffs and was all like "I heard you got laid off again... You could live with me again if you want." I was so amazed. I was like "Woah it sounds like she misses me...." I haven't seen her in a while, it might be interested living with my parents again after 5 yrs. of ignoring me. XD

Woah, if the pharmaceutical companies are having trouble than you know its really bad...

Wow Akasha, I hope it is her way of reaching out. At least you know you have a place to go should you need it.

I may have to consider moving back home also my family is having a few problems, so it worries me there.

But yeah, it's getting worrisome with the lay-offs, especially after hgearing about Pzifer and Google.

Anyways, I've heard about all this, and I'm really starting to get worried. >.O You see, I'm one of those ignorant people that know absolutely nothing about current events. I'm not sure where the hell I should start to start getting educated, what sources I should use, and who I should ask. I'm really confused. The way people are talking about it, I'm really worried, too.

Try the news, something like the BBC is good, or yahoo, or cnbc? or cspan, or something. Or just reading the newspaper or newsweek also helps. Not sure what else to suggest. I like knowing what is going on and keeping on on things.

I do miss my old group of frinds back home, you could make a political/current news joke and more than half the people would get it and not have to explain it.

Though use to also dealing with friends who also refuse to pay attention to the news because it's depressing. As if being ignorant is a better option.

You can sometimes makes jokes with me and I get it but not all the time I'm like Anna not to clueless about everying but pretty close T___T I like living under a rock

And to get off this depressing topic... does anyone know if the movie Max payn or something like that is out yet? It looks like a movie I wanna seee!!!

Dystopia - I'm nto sure where ot suggest start reading or paying attenton. Go with what you feel is unbiased or good for you. I honestly mostly suggest the BBC, Newsweek and Time. It's a good place to have both sides and unbiased. Fox news is a no-no for those. It's the most slanted and horrible out of them.
I usually don't watch news stations, but told CNBC is a good one. Go as far back as you feel like it till you feel you understand.
Also I suggest your local newspaper too.

Yes, bilbo. hahaha. I have a few thousand books... trying to sell my old books from childhood which is like when I was in middle school or early high school. I read a lot of fantasy books back then. xD Now I only buy nonfiction...

I've known of library's to keep a nice music collection to have it be checked out.

And waiting for people and having last minute changes suck. i could of gone and cashed my checks today, but instead I've been waiting on people.

The library in the town I grew up in had a pretty good selection of movies and music to check out. I REALLY need to join my local library and see what tehy have for movies and books--I can't afford to keep buying books!

Bummer Akasha... I've been waiting on this one check from my last job for like a week now... I'm getting really annoyed about it. Yeah, libraries like that are cool... some even have movies too.

*nod* Awesome idea, Bilbo. I can't afford to buy books either but I still have to buy textbooks for classes and they're all like $100 +... IN fact, my chem book was nearly $200. D:
