It's normally some cheep metal under the gold plating. Itching and burning are never a good combination. Especially when it continues even after you've washed it off. Hemp oil burns when I put it on the dry skin on my elbows.

You might want to get a titanium or surgical steel piercing. If your piercer doesn't stock those then refuse to get pierced there since they obviously don't understand about nickel allergies.

I know that there is deffinity one good piercing place where I live the other one isn't so good and alot of people have had problems when they got various piercings from there.
