Trust me there are people around who do get offended by that sort of subject. None of them are my friends but trust me, some people get offended by all sorts of things.
As I always think, no matter what you say, there's always going to be some person who will get offended so don't be afraid to say it.

I've watched previously banned films A Clockwork Orange and I could see why it was banned until a few years ago when it was allowed back ?!?! There's more graphic films out now.

My mother only let me watch that film because she'd seen it when it first came out and she didn't think it was that bad.

I've never seen A Clockwork Orange but intend to. Next to Threads, it can't be that bad and I saw that when I was 15 in school of all places. If you ever want to watch that movie, please don't watch it alone or before bed. It's very grim and it really hits you in the gut.
I once came back from work to find my then fiance a quivering wreck. He'd watched Threads and it scared the living snot out of him. This is a guy who's watched all the Friday the 13th films and was fine with them. That's how rough Threads is.
The reason I censored what I said is because I don't know the site rules on that sort of subject. Also all it takes is one person to see it and complain and I'll be in a world of trouble.

It's a British film so you wouldn't have
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090163/
Be warned it's a 15 Cert. film and the first plot keywords are "nuclear holocaust aftermath"

When you've read the novel then watch the film you can see where they've cut bits out. The Exorcist was banned in Germany after what happened to a girl there, they made the film The Exorcism Of Emily Rose based upon what happened to the girl.

It's a UK certification meaning that anyone under 15 can't buy it and is advised to not watch it.

They give films an age rating there's U- universal PG- perental guidence 12- sutible for people of the age of 12 and above 12A- pretty much the same as 12 only if an adult allows them to watch it it's fine and finally 15 and 18 which are pretty much the same as 12. That's all the British age certificates given to films.
They're only really used in the cinema and in DVD/game rental shops or else the companies would get jumped on for letting people in to see films which may be unsutible for them.

XD Oh, we use a different system for aging here.
G= General Audience.
PG
PG13 = Parental guardian needed under 13.
PG14
NC17 = No one under 17.
R = Restricted
MA = Mature audience
And finally.
X= << You should know what that is.
