Haha, I guess we do. The downside of being thread killers, conversations can turn stale at any given moment. XD;;

So... What's your favourite(?) thread killing method?
I'm particularily guilty of the one line replies. (As you might have noticed. <.<)

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 05:00 PM

Well the one that always gets me is when I'm in the middle of talking, and I'll put up a thought-out, sincere post, and then it turns out to be the last thing that the thread really has in it for a long time.

Youn 11-25-2008 05:12 PM

Oh I do hate it when that happens and I really don't know why it happens either.
Sometimes, I'm very tempted to go back and mark the thread "dead by wall of logic". XD

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 05:24 PM

Usually it's not logic; usually it's just me expressing my feelings. But the trouble is if I go back, if I quote that post people will just get annoyed like I'm desperate and obnoxious, but if i don't, people when and if they do come back will just say "hi" like nothing's wrong. When I come in to new threads, and I see someone has posted something like that and there's a discussion... I try to put my input in, if I have any, and if I don't, I try to avoid posting in there if I can help it...

Youn 11-25-2008 05:59 PM

Yes, I'm the same. Basically, that's why I'm fairly unactive in forums. It just feels wrong to pop in without a reason. Especially if it seems to be a private conversation.
However, if it's more than a day old, I usually don't really bother to try to carry the discussion further unless someone else tries to pick up the red thread first. It's not that I'm not interested, it just feels like I'm barging in uninvited.

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 06:01 PM

It's not so much that I feel bad about intruding, but I just feel out of place.

Youn 11-25-2008 07:02 PM

Yes, I see what you mean. It can definitely feel like that sometimes.
Anyway, I'm off to eat dinner. Take care if I don't see you later. =3

monstahh` 11-25-2008 07:15 PM

I hate bugs, I don't like touching them, or them touching me, but milipedes, and centipedes (and bees a little too) are the only bugs that scare the crap out of me. o 3o

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 07:17 PM

Aw, haha. Well I guess that's why they use the term "bug" to say when something's bothering you...

But I would say it's the multiple multiple sets of legs taht would give the scare factor... those things fascinate me but freak me out at the same time.

monstahh` 11-25-2008 07:28 PM

Brr! They just creep me the fuck out!

*hides*

AGREED!!
Why on earth did evolution give them so many legs?

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 07:31 PM

XD okie dokies.

Haha I like this version of this song. I'm listening to Pinhead Gunpowder... I don't expect you to really know them, but anyway there's a version of this song where the songwriter and a girl are singing the song in a duet, and there's a version where the songwriter and the sometimes-singer guitar player sing the same duet with very little changed... it's kind of cool listening to them side by side.

EDIT: @ox3: I don't know XD. Guess it was just to their advantage at the time...

Exchange 11-25-2008 07:32 PM

Well they don't need them now.
o 3o

I really wish Lamarck's theory of evolution was true.
-Sigh-
Screw Darwin.

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 07:40 PM

XD well but they don't need to lose them, either. The ones that are alive keep breeding, they dont' just go away when they don't need them anymore unless something requires that they lose them for survival, haha.

Lamarck?

Exchange 11-25-2008 07:44 PM

Maybe I spelled him wrong.
But he had this theory that if you used a particular limb/needed a particular characteristic, in your lifespan you will gain that.
Am I being too confusing??

It's basically like evolution, in one lifetime.

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 09:01 PM

Haha yes, I understand. And that would be pretty insane XD. But then that wouldn't be evolution, really, it would be... more like mutation.

Exchange 11-25-2008 09:05 PM

True.
But it's be so awesome.
Like I wanna fly.
Think hard enough, and you get to fly.

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 09:17 PM

Also I don't think that's really a scientific theory so much as just a hypothetical one XD.

Exchange 11-25-2008 09:19 PM

Yeah, which is probably why his theory was replaced by Darwin's.
^^

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 09:33 PM

Something like that, lol.

Exchange 11-25-2008 09:36 PM

Something like that.
I've been watching Heroes too much.
T.T

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 09:36 PM

What makes you say that?

Exchange 11-25-2008 09:38 PM

I wanna fly.
Like Nathan.

poet`s playground 11-25-2008 09:43 PM

I see, haha. I've never seen an episode of the show. I don't watch a whole lot of television... dramas and whatnot anyway. I like, like, food network shows... and I like Pushing Daisies but I hardly really watch anything regularly.

Exchange 11-25-2008 09:44 PM

I've never watched Pushing Daisies before.
The background story just never interested me.

I guess I'm more attracted to superficial things.
