I went to Spencer's today, and was talking to this girl working there (she was pretty hot, btw) and she was all. "I love your hat! Did you get it custom made?" (It's a black hat, with kitty ears that are pink plad on the inside.) And I was like, "Nahhh. Anime Convention."
"I like anime, but I've never been to one of those."
"Omg, you should go, they're so much fun!"
she was like, "Okay! I'll look into it!"

And then when I was at the cash register buying a shirt with a koi fish on it, she was all. "I like your shirt too."

Dae can't make anything clothing related. Our sewing machine is scary. O.o; Never been a creative type anyway.

But quilts are more fun than clothes

Our sewing machine is unreliable (in a kind of snaps-the-needle-off-at-random-intervals-and-eats-the-fabric kind of unreliable). <.<
I prefer knitting nowadays anyway but I miss being able to hem my own jeans.

I can only knit rectangles like scarves and squares like dishcloths :XD

But that's good! :3
If you know the basics, it's not that difficult learning more advanced techniques. You just have to make sure not too introduce too many new things at once.
Socks or mittens are wonderful items to work on. You learn a lot and they are fairly quick knits too if you use a thick yarn. (And they're useful! :3)

Our sewing machine is 50-ish years old and is temperamental... So I no touch it. The mom does quilts though. She made me a fun one when I went off to college and has made one for all her grandchildren.

I use to know how to knit when I was younger but haven't had a desire to pick it back up again. I have enough issues with my wrists. xD

I love quilts but I've never gotten into it myself. Probably because my first try was basically sewing together squares by hand. It got a bit tedious after a while. I got about one square meter before I was distracted and forgot to continue the project. XD;;

Oh my. Well, if you have troubles with your wrists I can definitely see why you might not want to knit.

Yeah my hands get crampy from knitting and I'm allergic to wool so i only use acrylic

Hehe, yes wool does have that effect. I use a lot of acrylics too, itchy hands is no fun.

Hand quilting is crazy. And so is cross stitch embroidery and scrapbooking. ^^;

I have done some cross stitching. I try to keep it small though

I tend to lose count of the sitches about half-way through. So without fail, right in the middle, everything suddenly shifts a few steps to the right. I never notice unil it's too late. XD;;

I don't like needles moving at a pace I can barely keep up with. Only things I've ever sewn were a pair of shorts and a drawstring bag. And I only made those because I had to for my home economics class.

I already do enough bad things for my wrists. ^^:

We did drawstring bags too! In first grade, I think it was. XD
I still have mine in a closet somewhere. I think we keep base ball bats in it or something.

We made boxers in highschool

My mom doesn't know how networking sites work, so I'm safe. xD She has a myspace but she can't even figure out how to log in.

My mom is like that but doesn't have the internet. so I'm extra safe

Oh, my mom can check a few things but is very limited when it comes to the internet. She doesn't really explore much, so I don't worry.

My boyfriend's mom can only handle facebook barely it's really cute when she adds updates on what she's doing :D
