Most "toxic" chemicals only cause problems over a long exposure time or in high doses.
Like.
On a daily basis you're exposed to lead.
So low, that it's not considered "toxic" levels, and therefor safe and legal.

-collapses into thread- Hm, indeed it has been Thulhu. Dae hasn't really had much time to post as of late. Second week of classes and I'm already drowning in work and readings.

I know how you feel except i'm in my fourth week of classes and missed all of last week because I had a bad cold, I'm pretty screwed XD

I'm feeling better overall I think. Real tired today though, spent the weekend traveling and attending a wedding fair. Plus I'm stressed out cause it seems like I leaped without looking and since you can't really un-ask someone to be your maid of honor I'm a bit buggered.

I just picked my Aunt because I didn't want to pick between my two best friends. Or really I didn't want my friend of 16years to get annoyed that I'd rather have my friend of 3ish years in the moh spot. The idea was that since they're both my best friends and bride's maids that they'd end up doing the work of the maid of honor and share it and my aunt could just be a kind of figure-head excuse, as in "sorry guys I wanted to pick one of you but she's family".
But then my fiance had the idea that he might like his uncle to be his best man and i realized that he almost needed to pick his uncle because other wise I'd invited a 48 year old women to be in a bridal party of all 20 somethings and two 32year-olds. The problem being that he has 3 guys he'd want beside his uncle and i've only got two girls so I'd end up having to ask my cousin. But now he's not sure that he wants his uncle over his buddy and i feel like a big idiot for picking my girls over a year in advance, i guess I just got too excited.
Plus I know that the friend of 16years is getting icy about doing moh things even though she's not that and I'm a bit annoyed now that the person I picked to have all the glory title is not really involved at all.

I explained how it's a big mess to my Aunt and she replied in a email that I should do whatever I wanted for my wedding in order that i'm happy and not care what anyone thinks, but then she says right after, "i'll always be beside you and the second you tell me which color of dress to order I'll get it right away". So what does that mean? Is she saying it's okay to piss anyone off but her? I'm super confuzzled.

I think you could interpret that as possibly meaning that she would be ok stepping down from MoH to just be a brides maid instead?

I think she was right though, do what YOU want because its YOUR wedding. you dont really get opportunities like that very often, and its about what you two want, not what other people think you should do and how you should do it and blah blah blah. The wedding comes down to the two of you at the altar and your happiness etc. Everyone else isnt marrying your fiance, YOU ARE!

I basically agree with everything Assassin_666 just said. Especially the part about your aunt. Sounds like she's old enough to understand where you are coming from. To be honest, I wouldn't have been surprised if she had been surprised that you asked her in the first place. She may be incredibly important to you but let us be honest, not many people pick their aunts to be a maid of honor. Though I will admit, from the sounds of it, she probably would still like to be a bride's maid and that's what she is probably implying with the dress thing. ^_^;

Remember, it's YOUR special day (well, your fiance's too). I know that you probably care what your best friends or your aunt think but sometimes, a wedding is one of those times where you have to make the decision that you'll be happy with. It's the day you'll remember or have on video for the rest of your life.

If you really want to, have a talk about it with your aunt and friends (though separately would probably be best). I'd also recommend a nice reminder to your friends that it is your day and that your decision shouldn't affect your friendship.

Well, this is just one of those times where you got to take the reins on your day. Now, I'm not saying go all bridezilla or anything but you have to be happy with the product. If you really want, I'd just say have two maids of honor. But that's just me.
