/sigh.
and now my day is shit again. I shared the good news with my guild.
And the first thing my friend Floyd does (he hadn't spoken to me all day), is whine about my friend, for "sucking up to me" aka, trying to make me feel better because other than that one bit of good news, I'd had an awful week.

Awe you have to ignore people who bring you down like that, or if you want to stay friends you need to say "hey I was trying to share some good news with you and now you've really depressed me with your pettiness"
Also congratulations! That is great news!

I've never tried paintballing but it does look painful...and messy, so I'd rather not.

Oh no, not painful really. Once you get into it with the running around and shooting at stuff the adrenaline kicks in and its just like being flicked hard when you get hit. You feel it, you know its happened, but its the sorta thing you can shrug off.
I went today and it was EFFING EPIC! won a match for our team, got some unbelievable shots and saw some hilarious stuff played. was awesome! Im so doing it again! I think everyone that went with us will be going again actually!

I must admit I haven't watched much of the winter Olympics but I did see one of Australia's 2 man bobsleigh flip. That was sad in every way. :(

I havent watched any of it. Im not an olympics fan. To me, it doesnt represent a nation of people, it just shows their freaks off. The competitors arent the normal people of a country, they are now the people who have dedicated their entire lives to doing one thing like its an obsession! And each country turns out to parade their freaks around proudly, trying to see who has the better freak show!

I like the Olympics. I enjoy watching the competitions and find it quite exciting. ^_^
I don't think they are trying to represent a nation in abilities or anything. I think they are trying to represent the spirit of the nation or they just really want to compete at the top level. Obviously, the Olympians realize that not everyone is so dedicated to a particular event quite like they are. I think they really just want to feel accomplished and want people to know they are proud to represent a country.
Since you haven't been watching, you probably don't realize that many competitors don't even come from or were raised in the country they represent in the Olympics.

That says it all then!
"Go people from my country who arent actually representing their country but another country instead!"
... just doesnt have the same ring to it that "Go Australia" does, does it? '>_>
For me, thats the icing on the cake, Olympics, in what ever form, is odd IMO, if you arent representing the country that you are from. Sure, people decide they want to live in another country, but that sort of thing happens so often now, people change 'countries' so often that its hard to know where theyre really from to begin with!

Thulhu: What? O.o
Assassin_666: Well, generally, you wouldn't cheer for people who may be from your home country but are on the team for another country. xD The Olympics aren't about representing the people of a particular country as a whole. Now I just keep thinking about that song...

It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people

Um, I don't think that any one person is changing/moving to other countries so frequently.... Cause that's what it seems like your implying with some of what you wrote. And it's not really that easy to become a citizen of another country from what I gather... Tons of paper work and stuff.
