Which two languages does Ling speak?
Poet knows English (An ever changing language is annoying) Poet also knows basic Japanese. (VERY basic) Poet wants to learn Celtic with a friend someday. |
Aren't all living languages ever-changing? Stuff happens and forces people to coin new words in whatever language they speak practically every day.

Dae is here for a little bit! ^_^;

Home made waffles sounds good right about now...
|
I know doesn't it!
|
I bought a pack of Potato Pancakes. I wonder if they're any good.
|
Poet had orange chicken instead...
Potato pancakes? [drool] That sounds magically delicious! |
potato pancakes do sound good right now >.>'

Potato pancakes? What are those?
|

atleast that is how we make them at my home. |
X-X finally out of work. and tomorrow's a day off.... if I don't get called in again.
How is everyone? |
Waah, LONGCAT is all black, thats a new look.
@Poet, the two languages Ling speaks are English and Mandarin Chinese. I want to improve English and Mandarin and hopefully learn enough Cantonese to maintain a conversation. |
Ooh Mandarin... poet will never try to learn that... o.o trying to learn Kanji in Japanese and Chinese would be so confusing XD
|
I wish i could speak chinese.
|
Ling, it's my Halloween costume >:3 I'm dressed as my arch-nemesis Tacgnol. *note I am facing the opposite way I usually do too!!*
to add to conversation I can speak English and read French. (can't speak all that well.) |
Strangely enough, I once watched an interview of the former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd, he is known for being quite good at Mandarin for a 100% non-Chinese person. Anyway, he said at the start of the interview that his Mandarin was getting worse, but then continues to speak in Mandarin of China and Australia's international relations stuff which I probably wouldn't even be able to talk about without throwing in some English.
Just goes to show that some people are just better at learning languages than others. I reckon if I wasn't born into a situation where it was necessary for me to speak Mandarin and English I would probably most likely only be able to speak the one language. @LONGCAT, ah I see, that's kinda awesome. Didn't know of the archnemesis Tacgnol before. |
Well Ling's English is pretty good ^^
Poet is good at learning languages but poet's trick is very time consuming... poet learns the absolute basics, and then learns the language from scratch IN that language. |
The Wandering Poet- ~clings to knight in shinning armor~ ^^
|
XD Haha... seems you've found out how to stalk me already *hugs*
|
That seems to be the method a lot of people use, it's the learning the basics to be able to learn the rest that's often hardest when you don't have many opportunities to use it.
|
Poet considers learning a language a waste of time if poet doesn't plan to use it though.
Like, poet is planning to learn the native languages of the countries they visit someday |
Ling which language are you learning Chinese or English?
