Well, not in real life but on the internet I do.
|
That was supes sweet of you! [heart]
Considering the average memory of a fish, I'd say 15 minutes is pretty good for a seacow. |
Lol, Seacows remember for forever! But Daes... not so much.
|
*peeks in and waves*
|
I remember it as long as it's not important.
|
Happy Birthday Dae!!~
|
Happy Birthmas.
|
Fish have a lot better memories than that I think. Because there is muscle memory and brain memory. Even if the brain forgets sometimes the body can have an amazingly long memory owo
Dae - I find that the way you learn something effects a lot of how you retain it [yes] |
Chinese… isn't that scary.
/oh, whoa /I mean Chinese isn't that scary /not Chinese… Isn't THAT scary |
I'm confused... suddenly Chinese is a topic... and both those sentences are read the same to me.
|
Heh heh heh… look closely, and it might help a bit more.
The first one is saying Chinese isn't as scary as it looks. The second one is saying, "Yeah, man, Chinese. Isn't that some scary stuff!" I always post off-topics in the open chat threads when I have nothing to say to the current topic. |
Part that does it for me is the lack of punctuation to fully determine how to read them.
|
Noticing the capital I in the second one might've helped a bit. [;)]
|
*peeks in and waves before heading to bed*
|
Well after a . often times people capitalize so I wasn't sure.
Goodnight Kirin |
别怕,中文只是语言。
(Don't be afraid, Chinese is just a language.) I agree with Poet, using punctuation improves the clarity of written language. |

Grammar is not my best subject. I generally retain random things. I also remember things better if I write them down. I have an excellent muscle memory, which I think ties into the writing things down. As a part-time barista, pretty much everything I do is from muscle memory. Which is why when they change things in our POS system (like reorder things for ringing them up), it takes me a bit to change my reflexes.
|
Hey Dae, check your trades. [:)]
|
I know the feeling of getting used to something then things being changed.
|
Punctuation doesn't just improve clarity... due to the chaos of English it can completely change the meaning, tone, add sarcasm, etc [lol]
I'm the same way Dae. They changed the school curriculum recently and I'm still adapting. |
Whatever. Being a native speaker is the only way to satisfactorily improve clarity.
|
I dunno... as a native speaker I still can't understand people sometimes [lol]
There is a poem dedicated to explaining just how confusing our language is. |
English is hilariously inconsistent.
Even rules that supposedly explain them don't quite...you know...like 'I after E except after C' but the word 'weird' is kind of appropriately non-conforming to that rule. |
My rule is memorize them, because I before E never ever helped me growing up. I spelled so many words wrong due to that rule. I still spell a lot of words wrong because of that rule.
