Chinese online game called Norn Saber. It seems like I'm the only English-speaking player who doesn't quit after a month or so. I've been playing for… years. Wow.

Yeah, I know some. I have a webpage with a list of common Chinese characters to use as I play. Sometimes I know what they're saying in the chat and it's pretty great. I wish I could join in. *sadfais*
Also, there's another version of the game that got translated to English. The graphics and interface are similar, and there are a lot of the same items. I can use that game as a reference if I get confused. Norn Saber never got translated to English, but I like the story more and it's easier to progress. /the one that exists in English has a primitive "living off the land" theme /this one's futuristic and there are mecha robots everywhere |

It's great. When I find friends, they always need my help to find out what quests want.
The… I don't know the term… the text coding the game uses won't let me type in Chinese. Like, I know how to switch my keyboard to Chinese, but if I try to use it in the game, I just get ??? into infinity. If I copy and paste a line from the chat, I get this: Quote:

The game text coding is just different. It's like how you have to save a text document in Unicode if you use certain characters or you'll lose 'em.

It's that way with everybody at that age. And I've only seen 20-somethings at the youngest on Mene since I was in eighth grade.

Really? I'd met people as young as 11 on here at some point. 13-14 was also common for a while.

Anyone still in their 20s is still young...and I can say that as a 30 year old.
