Same here Dae. Looking at old posts just makes me feel icky.

Amane 09-02-2016 12:58 PM

Oh, trust me. I found a lot of cringeworthy posts.

I'm looking for when we were theorizing about the stars above our avvies and someone made an edit of Antagonist with stars cluttered all around him because some people thought the stars represented name changes. [rofl]

And, Dae, I cannot do that. Future looks dark. Past looks nice.

I found my intro thread. I was so smol. [blush]

secretdae007 09-02-2016 01:33 PM

By looking into the future, I mean figuring out what is for lunch [rofl]

Amane 09-02-2016 01:35 PM

Oh, I can always look forward to food.

secretdae007 09-02-2016 02:05 PM

If I actually was thinking about the future future, I would have my resume out there.

Amane 09-02-2016 02:10 PM

Future future's too scary.

The Wandering Poet 09-02-2016 02:53 PM

I would put my resume out, but I like my current job. Though eventually I'll have to find a better paying job.

I don't got that kinda time in the student phase.

Now, why would u wanna b halfassed?

Amane 09-03-2016 04:10 PM

Trust me. Being a student takes all my time. If I worked, I would've flunked out.

Nooo! *begs speaker* Don't die on me!

kelseydee 09-03-2016 11:18 PM

Death becomes her... Did u ever see that silly movie?

Amane 09-04-2016 12:03 AM

I don't watch things, Cheshire Pisces!

Kirin Rosenbaum 09-04-2016 12:34 PM

Amane just takes part in things.

Amane 09-04-2016 01:34 PM

Hahaha, yes, I do very much prefer jumping in over being a lurker on the Internet.

The Wandering Poet 09-07-2016 05:33 AM

Being a student is a full time endeavor because teachers load you up with about 3+ hours of homework... each...

Kirin Rosenbaum 09-07-2016 12:40 PM

I so don't miss being a student.

Amane 09-07-2016 01:45 PM

I don't know how people with pets, kids, and a job do it. [no]

The Wandering Poet 09-07-2016 04:44 PM

Because pets are simple. Pet me, feed me, walk me (for dogs) and they're usually perfectly happy.

kelseydee 09-07-2016 05:06 PM

My chihuahua dances for joy when I walk into a room and makes me smile or even laugh. That's a pets worth

Kirin Rosenbaum 09-07-2016 08:17 PM

I miss having a pet.

secretdae007 09-08-2016 01:58 PM

I have cats. I am a crazy cat lady. Currently have 7 cats in the house through a really complicated twist of fate.

kelseydee 09-08-2016 02:54 PM

How catty... Yeah, it's old but always good

The Wandering Poet 09-08-2016 05:14 PM

What is the story behind them? ^^

I know my partner has adopted a lot of critters over the years but almost all of them were wild.

secretdae007 09-08-2016 05:53 PM

This is a long and a little sad at parts story. But overall, it is mostly happy and insane-ducing. Click those who dare.

SPOILERX

Well, it started with one cat. Her name is Fluffles. She is super friendly with people and was a stray. Took her in to the house around mid-October of last year.

By around mid-November, we noticed she was getting very... round in the middle. And not in a "just gaining weight" kind of way. Take her to the vet and viola, she is preggers. They do xrays saying that we should be able to see them but unfortunately doesn't work out. They say bring her back in a week and they will do it again (at a lessor cost). Well, unfortunately the next day, she miscarried. [:(] Called the vet and they said once the swelling goes down (in about a month), we can look to get her spayed.

So by the beginning of December... we notice that the "swelling" has not gone down. Take her back to the vet, and they are all like "Well, it could be a fossilized kitten or something. If she isn't in pain, just wait a bit longer. See if she delivers whatever it is naturally." So we wait... About a week later, she is making the same sounds she did when she miscarried. So we put plenty of newspaper down and a blanket. About 2 hours later, something is coming out... The words that come out of my mouth were literally "OMG, it's a kitten. OMG, it's alive!" And thus Nemo entered our lives.

Now on to our next set of feline friends... So, we live in a city where a lot of renos are going on in old houses (like 100+ years old). Well, during the reno happening next door, there must have been some sort of opening between the houses and a feral cat got into our basement. I start feeding her and have a litter box down there so she doesn't completely destroy everything. It gets to the point that they must have sealed off her way out because we start to see her every day.

After about 1.5-2 months, what shows up in our basement but four incredibly adorable kittens with basement cat. Being the masochists we are, basement cat and the kittens all have names: Gob and the Bs (Bee, Bear, Bernard, Butter). For the first 2 weeks, Gob was fine leaving them out where we could see them. Until she wasn't. Then she hid them for 2 weeks in an area we couldn't get to.

As soon as she brought them out again, we scooped them up and put them in the spare bedroom where they have been ever since. Well, now we let them wander the house but Gob stays in the bed room (she does not like people) and Fluffles hates them all (she is incredibly territorial). Nemo and the Bs all play together.

So hopefully on Sunday, we can get all the kittens their shots and such. We have some tenentive adoptive families for them in the next 2 weeks. Then at the beginning of October, we will get Gob spayed and when she is healed, let her back outside.

Ta da! I will post pictures later if you all would like. But yeah, not looking to maintain 7 cats long term (our house is only 700-800 sq ft) but that is what happened.

kelseydee 09-08-2016 09:42 PM

Spoiled is the word.
