Nah, Ling is my Chinese name. There are people who call me Ling in real life.

There are people who call me Dae in real life. It gets very confusing for people who know me by only my given name sometimes.

My name is Kelsey. People call me Kelsey.

I mean, I hardly get called my real name as it is. Whether it's at Starbucks or my corporate office is transferring someone over to talk to me, it typically gets butchered or is turned into the wrong name. I have long since given up correcting people. Same with pronunciation. I have what could be called a simple but difficult first and last name combo. Either way, I am doomed.

My real name disgusts me, but I can't pick a nickname and I'm not confident enough to go by one.

I have no issues with my real name nor would I change it as that process is a rather long and tedious one, I think. My real first name is too short to really have a nickname.

I mean, the USA is a cluster---- right now. I know if it weren't for all the protesting and US citizens showing such an adverse reaction to everything President Trump (I just cringed typing that) is doing, the world would continue thinking of us as a huge global embarrassment. Hard for me to comprehend that this is all still really happening. *end rant*

I wish I could be an outside on the situation. I mean, a lot of what has been happening does not directly affect me but that isn't really the point. Sometimes, it just seems crazy that as a first world country, we still have such backwards thinking on human rights and such.
