Like an never ending budget, right? That is what my BF would love but he is also in architecture, so... If it were up to him, he'd design his own house from scratch.
He kind of did that with the current house but with a limited budget, a very old row home, and his not expert self (he was still in college at the time), it has some flaws.

We live in a house built in 1890. So open concept without completely gutting it was not an option. Though next door to us is open concept but that house was a wreck before they gutted it (they basically had no choice).

Yeah, we're trying to avoid having to immediately gut whatever house we have
We want to do some updates, like a cat door, and tiles in the bathroom, and making sure none of the current fixtures are really rusty or dirty beyond being able to clean...and I think that's all we'd really like to do...oh yeah, paint is something we're planning on doing too
But we're not really there yet
we haven't picked a house yet
because the places we keep touring are on busy streets
and then i find a dozen other things wrong
and then i'm like, nope~!
but the places on some of the smaller streets are crappier/don't have 'fiber' internet which my boyfriend covets so, so he's all 'i don't want this house'
like god damn we don't need fiber internet
sure it would be nice
but the last mile is probably going to be copper anyway, so why not just wait the few years or whatever for it to move into our area? its already covering 1/5 of the city (the house we're touring in a few hours actually has fiber...but its on a busy street )
i'm not...super opposed to a busy street
if i didn't have a cat
but i have a cat
and he loves going outside
and i don't really want him to get run over
i'd never forgive myself because he is The Sweetest Kitty

Well, in the city, it was cheaper for my BF to buy a house than to rent/live in student housing for 5 years. Granted, we are in the outskirts in a very hipstery area.
I'm amazed that our house handles internet a well as it does. Granted, I know my BF has done a thing or two but we pretty much have a smart house. Almost all our lights are smart lights; we have a Google home, 2 Amazon echos (regular and dot), 3 sonos speaker things, 2 smart TVs, an xbox one, Vizio speaker for the TV, my laptop, multiple tablets, our phones, and who knows what else connected to our wifi.
I'm in the city, so all our cats are indoor. Which reminds me I need to do some TNR this spring.

I'm in a city too but its a very 'green' city and we have a huge backyard at the end of a street with a bunch of neighbors who also have large yards, and only a couple cats outside besides ours, so he's fairly safe where we live now....but that is why I am worrying, I don't know how he'll handle a busier street
he's used to being able to cross the street here. :<
We have to have two routers right now because there is a water wall in the middle of the house.
All our computers are ethernet'd tho.
The wifi is mostly for our devices, phones, chromecast, Apple TV, etc.
We're paying like, $1,500 a month in rent, which is quite frankly more than a mortgage would be so we're exploring our options with buying a house.
I'd really like to because I'm tired of renting, and all the rules my landlady has in place
and finding a new place that allows cats and also has the space we need, without a roommate, is probably going to suck, so we'd rather just buy now, yknow?
Because we need a minimum of two bedrooms just for us--an office and a room to sleep in
but we'd like an extra bedroom so that I have somewhere to fall asleep during the day when I feel poopy, and its hopefully not right next to his office, because he works over a VPN
but tbh thats a tall order :(
he is flat our rejecting houses with less than 3 bedrooms, but I might just override him becos it is my money.

Our city is super congested and people are nut cases. Granted, when I lived in the suburbs, I hated watching indoor/outdoor cats. I just prefer them all to be indoor cats.
We have lots of cats in our area (hence how we ended up with 4.5 cats right now). I really want to get into TNR to help lower the population because it really is getting out of hand.
Yeah, that can be a lot. My bf pays a little under $1000 a month for mortgage and insurance but we also have a small 2 bedroom, 1 bath (which is a major issue for us, personally). But he also has a 15 year mortgage and is about 4-5 years into paying it. But we both know it isn't really going to be our long term place. It is a complicated mess.
Yeah, I mean there are pluses and minuses to owning vs renting. At this point, we probably won't be able to rent anywhere anyway because we currently have more than the usually number of cats.

Ah, to have a more rewarding job. Instead of one that stresses you out, your coworkers are crazy (in a not so good way), and your boss insists of keeping everything a secret.

#CatLifeProblems
If I was home more, I would definitely want a dog. But with the limited space and no good outdoor space, I don't see it in the foreseeable future.
I get mailers all the time that I qualify for a mortgage. And BF and I sometimes look around but it's just so expensive closer to center city.
1 Bath is never enough. Even for 1 person.

Find a field that interests u and get a job doing that.
U don't have to start at the top. But go do it.

What about a mobile home. Lot rent is cheaper than property tax.

Yeah, it is the finding something interests me that is tough... Plus, the longer I stay here, the more money I make (I work with commissions and the bigger my book of business, the more money I make).
And debatable. My grandma technically lives in a mobile home but rent for the land is $600 a month plus if you had a mortgage/loan for the mobile home itself, that could add up. Plus, land up here can be just as pricey.

I really only have 2 coworkers (one who works outside the office). But the one in the office with me is just the opposite of me. Vain, obsessed with labels, and thinks she is a gift on Earth. Boss is ok, just hardly ever here to help and throws most of her work on me anyway.
