Thank you Dae :D
+ also now i want a lava cake D: what did you see amane?? |
I don't know if I made you want the lava cake, but me, too. I'm currently looking at lava cakes, actually.
I watch this show called Riverdale. It surprises me a lot. |

Riverdale. I do not watch scary things. It doesn't take much to make me freak out.
|
Ah, I get the idea that Riverdale is a darker version of the Archie comics?
|
That's correct. Dark, twisted, and terrible, but the characters are still themselves at heart. I enjoy watching it so much. [squee]
|
I haven't watched any of it but based on the promo pictures and what I have gleaned in internet passing, I could get the vibe.
|
They moved it to one of our stupid family dinner nights, so I'm not home to see it. *frowns*
|
I heard they erased Jugghead's asexuality :<
|
Wait, what? Is he actually canon ace in the comics? I mean, I read them all the time, so I know he does not have interest in girls.
|
Yes he was canon ace.
It was very little discussed but there are comics where he flat out says things like, food is better than girls or boys iirc I read Archie a long as time ago |
Yes, yes, he says those things indeed. He has noooo interest in girls. *chuckle* They did indeed make that not the case in the show thus far. 'Twould be cool for him to be ace, but I don't mind. I enjoy the show too much to get hung up on that. It's not a flaw or negative point to me.
|
well as someone who has experienced being ace and it being party of my identity for a while, it made me a little sad that for ratings they made a canon ace character get into a relationship. :< ace people often get forced into sexual relationships they don't want because ace people will be super excited and happy to talk sometimes and have a close connection with them, but then people push and push and push, thinking there's a magic button that will change your mind.
*I was ace because a medication I was on completely shut down my libido for years (think 4 or 5) so at a certain point I didn't even really remember being non-ace o-o i'm only 26 and my memory is swiss cheese |
I know a lot of people must be upset. It's hard for me to be critical of anything (except my own work). It seems like everybody else is super critical of everything, A.K.A. has more capacity to see flaws than I do. I just kinda… get into the vibe of whatever I'm watching/reading/whatever and roll with whatever happens. No questioning from me.
I'm an aromantic asexual myself and it doesn't feel like a big deal to me. In my mind, it's as minor of a detail as liking pizza. I'm the only person like that I've met. XD Swiss cheese memory. Totally imagined a cheese brain. |
I'm not upset, I was just looking forward to seeing an ace character on a show. >.>
Not having that dampened my spirits on it. xD; In Psych, Detective Lassiter is canon pansexual. :) |
*sneezes* With hope, give it a few years and there'll be plenty more representation in fiction.
|
I hope so! More POC too. :)
And fewer writers rooms filled entirely of men, cheese and thanks. |
More female writers, if you cheese! I would be cheesed to see it. *giggle*
Hmm, what does an Amane want to see more of? I can't say. I love everything about every show I watch and like. And if I don't like it, it's that I don't like the theme. No crime shows for me, cheese and thanks. [lol] Okay, that is really fun to say. ---------- Post added 11-07-2017 at 05:11 PM ---------- OH! I love the shows where it's like watching a YA fantasy novel. Oppressive societies, drama, perfect love interests, ALL THE YA NOVEL ELEMENTS! [squee] |
I like crime dramas
but I prefer crime comedies like Psych or Brooklyn Nine-Nine :) I'm a little bored of some common YA tropes. But YA is usually what I aim for I guess. I want more fantasy shows in general too. GoT is good but like. Why did they scrap the Sabriel movie forever ago? [angry] |
Yeah, I can totally watch a crime comedy. Those are fun.
Most people are bored of all the clichés in YA novels. I don't notice them, so I don't care. |
well, i guess whatever you like is fine amane. XD
I just spend a lot of time watching TV so I tend to be like, blah this is boring *puts on something else that is as different as possible* |
Naw, you're like most people. That critical voice in your head is on when you watch stuff. Mine is off until I try to work on something of my own. Whether it's a creative thing or something else.
I… focus so much on what's happening that I'm not thinking about the quality of the content? I'm not thinking about how it's not real. All I see is what is happening in the show. No questioning involved. It all just makes sense to me. And then I start to work on something of my own, and I'm like, "Man, people would tear this apart so hard because of the logic errors." "I can't make any mistakes because people will see it and laugh at me!" "Okay, that reaction is over-the-top. I have to rewrite this character's entire backstory." Because that's all I see people doing with published work! |
