We were in college and being stupid. It happens. But I also wasn't the only one to have issues with this friend in regards to her super clean freak nature.

I remember overhearing an adult in my family saying that getting money involved can also ruin a friendship.

In the idea of lending money to a friend, yes that can lead to a LOT of issues. I live with the idea that if I'm "lending" money to a friend or family member, to have no expectation that I am getting it back. I've had family members burned because of poor money lending decisions.

Amane...I wonder if your mom dumped the Hamburger Helper seasonings into cheesecloth and made a "sachet" by tying them tightly inside, if the "dirty specks" would stay inside the cheesecloth and still allow all the flavor to cook into the sauce.
This might make the job of making Hamburger Helper a little less time consuming.

I try to not get bent out of shape over money. Example: I was maid of honor at my friend's wedding. I probably paid for like 80% of the cost of things just because my friends/other bridesmaids just wouldn't remember to pay me back or chip in.
Granted, when I gave my friend's mom a Pandora charm (which we decided to get her as a gift from the bridal party), I took 100% credit for it. I paid for it and it was Cinderella's carriage which is way more expensive than the usual Pandora charms. Her mom had done so much to help out with everything and deserved it for handling (& paying for) my bridezilla friend's destination Disney World wedding.

I think it was $95 plus taxes and stuff. But you also have to remember I spent a lot of money on the dress & shoes, one bridal shower (her mom threw and paid for another one for the family), her bachelorette party, flights for myself and BF, room, nails, hair, makeup. I probably put out no less than $1,200 to be in this wedding (not including flight and room in Disney). A lot of the typical shared costs (shower and bachelorette) were mostly me paying for everything. But I knew that my friends and the other bridesmaid had no money. And I wasn't about to cheap out on my friend's once in a life time wedding, so I sucked it up.

But, like, do you guys mean to tell me the seasoning is separate in the box!? When sister cooks the lasagna, she would never do such a thing. She's cooking it mainly for herself and she doesn't care about that. I pick through it when I eat it, and it tastes slightly different. I like my mommy's way better.

I thought the seasonings came in a separate pouch in the box usually. Like ramen has a seasoning pouch inside that is separate from the noodles.

I've never seen the inside of the box. I don't help at the stove because I'm scared of it. *shivers*

Before your mom makes it, just look at what is inside the box next time. Like Inzane said, if the seasonings are in a separate pouch, maybe a cheese cloth before hand would work better than having to strain it after the fact. Or maybe premaking any liquids with the seasoning in a cheese cloth would work better? I haven't made hamburger helper in years.

I don't even know where she keeps the stuff. It's where the childrens won't think to get into it and make a mess of it. I saw it at the store and the box said something about cheese, and I was like, IT COMES WITH CHEESE?
Found it online! The seasoning is indeed in its own packet.

Hm, wonder if the BF would like hamburger helper... I remember it being very easy to make. We are trying to get better at making food at home instead of eating out all the time.

I like the Beef Pasta flavor of Hamburger Helper...
I will eat some of the other flavors but I don't like them as well.
There are a lot of different flavors out there and they should all be tried, but because there is a lot of salt in boxed mixes, I wouldn't recommend eating it every day.
I like making things from scratch with my own choice of seasonings.

Yeah, the BF is picky as in any of the ones with pasta is a no go. And I don't want to make a whole batch of hamburger helper just for myself. I'd be eating it for a week.
