The city is fun—I love seeing all those people and all the buildings and the shopping—but if I see shady stuff, I'm like, oops, time to leave. *is busily crafting a snowseacow*

*faints from joy*

Dae needs to remember that the event starts on Saturday. Unfortunately Dae will be away from a laptop for a few days as it is BF's family's turn for Christmas this year.

late dae is still a good dae [glomp]
have a wonderful holiday season together

secretdae007 12-19-2018 06:48 PM

Same to you, hummilicious. It will be a long couple of days as we will be there from Friday night until Tuesday night. His family doesn't really like doing anything and almost always an argument about what we are doing for meals. But he will be happy to see them and get to see his niece open her gifts on Christmas morning.

hummy 12-19-2018 08:35 PM

aw shucks

secretdae007 12-20-2018 02:45 PM

I just miss being with my family on Christmas sometimes still. It's hard cause it's difficult to get my immediate family all in one place at one time. My three older brothers all have families of their own and my younger brother works in a convenience store that operates 24/7 (so always busy).
edit: and as I mentioned, we don't really do anything at his family's house. Like my family will all be talking and playing games and there would be no arguments about food. Also, we have to travel back home on Christmas day because my office is open on Wednesday.

aw so short holiday

secretdae007 01-02-2019 03:47 PM

Yeah, well, I would rather not spend a week at BF's parents' house. Instead, his parents came over this past weekend and we demo-ed our back bedroom...

hummy 01-02-2019 09:04 PM

that works

secretdae007 01-03-2019 06:41 PM

They will be coming again this weekend and we have a lot of stuff to get done before they get here.

hummy 01-03-2019 09:49 PM

stuff everything in the closets

secretdae007 01-04-2019 02:59 PM

We don't really have many closets. We live in a small rowhome and we have too much stuff. Our basement is filled with things and we are down a room. It is chaos which gives me anxiety.

hummy 01-04-2019 03:55 PM

oh I understand that

secretdae007 01-04-2019 09:00 PM

Honestly, i have always been a bit of a clutter bug but we're getting to the point where I feel like I can never find anything because we have too much stuff...

hummy 01-07-2019 05:42 PM

ah. I hope you have a great visit

secretdae007 01-07-2019 11:40 PM

It was a somewhat productive visit. We got studs mostly up and most of the insulation.

hummy 01-08-2019 02:48 AM

oh, that is a lot of productivity

secretdae007 01-08-2019 02:45 PM

Yeah, well we still have a long ways to go. Gotta put ceiling stuff in (which is gonna be fun *cough*) and the drywall up. Then gotta finish the drywall, paint, and figure out what we are putting on the floor.

Also, hummy was, once again, the last poster in our event thread!

hummy 01-08-2019 05:35 PM

It is a lot of work but it'll be worth it when it's done.
Yay for being the thread killer!

secretdae007 01-08-2019 09:07 PM

It's just annoying because I would rather have someone else do it. I am not a DIYer in regards to home renovations.

hummy 01-08-2019 09:35 PM

At least YouTube help you figure out how to do stuff correctly the 1st time

secretdae007 01-09-2019 04:03 PM

That is a lot of BF's dad does. He looks up videos on how to do things and then tries to do it. BF is architect, so he has an idea on the conceptualization part. However, BF father & BF do not work well together. Basically a lot of yelling at each other and sometimes throwing of things.

Amane 01-09-2019 06:08 PM

DIY? Is that anything like when I decide to do things my own way and it takes me way longer to get results half as good as I want?

secretdae007 01-09-2019 06:49 PM

Pretty much. Do it yourself and see the bad results. My one friend though is very good at DIY stuff, crafty things, and doing her nails.
