The only issue I have with the female avi's is the default underpants!
I hate the little red heart... the first time I saw it I was like "uhm... that time of the month? Gross Mene!" and then I looked a little closer. They couldnt have made it like a yellow star, or rainbow or daisy or something? :D The six packs kind of remind me of John Morrison from WWE hahah, he's ripped like that... looks like an action figure :P |

Yes, I would prefer that... and it's something that's present on a number of avatar sites. The fact that something so simple and completely inocuous would cause an uproar baffles and enrages me, to be honest :/.

There are nothing on these avatars that we haven't all seen, well most of us anyways. And I certainly won't say that human figure is beautiful, honestly humans are gangly strange looking things, but it's not like they are advertising sex, or promoting porn so there is no need to be prude about showing an avatar with no bra or underwear. Heaven forbid that we should become entranced by naked pixels! The horror :sarcasm:

If everybody here can say that they've never let their children play with a naked doll because it was indecent, and they've never seen anatomically correct nude statues... then I might say "well... then you've got something of a problem" ... >_>.

Remember the days of MTV when certain videos could not be played until after 10 pm because they girls dressed scantily and dancing sexy. Now it's a household staple for videos to have damn near naked people in them. 2 Live Crew and Sir Mixalot were two of the groups that could not be aired before 10pm.

I think more people need to put out nudity in a way that isn't sexual. If it happened enough I think media outlets would definitely have to do something.

Yeah, although... I think most of what we think of as being sexually attractive is largely social. Breasts, for instance... I tihnk they're mostly associated with sex because of the sign that they have been in many cultures of fertility. The rest is genitalia... |

I think with nudity in media it is sometimes still shocking to me, especially male frontal nudity because it's so rarely seen in media (like in Forgetting Sarah Marshall with Peter Segel hanging out all over the place lol) but it's not like I get disgusted with it. It's more of a 'Oh my!' kinda thing hehe. I think it would also make the naked body less about sexiness as well... if there were more nudity in media other than porn people would probably appreciate the human body more. |
