O: Aww what happened.

Well... so, Fabby used to be a pretty heavy smoker. Like, 10-15 a day. Now, taking my age into account (I was 14 at the time) that's sort of a lot.
But.. oh, about eight months ago I quit on behalf of my boyfriend. I don't really want to start again, it's too much of a pain in the ass. And it's been long enough that I'm not at risk of relapsing.

But I still like to (very infrequently) have a cigarette as a social thing. Unfortunately, my boyfriend hates it. So I promised him I wouldn't. But I still want to, and it's not like this is happening often; I never hang out with anyone ANYWAY! I mean... I've already basically given up drinking and weed for him. I don't go to concerts anymore because it worries him. I don't hang out with people he doesn't like. I pretty much gave up my old lifestyle entirely, and I just want this one little bit.

Cause, you see, earlier tonight I was with his sister and his friend at a party. His sister went up for a cigarette, and I took a few hits. I feel sort of bad about it, but I don't really want to tell him either. He'll make a much bigger deal out of it than it really should be. He'll be EXTREMELY upset.

I don't want to upset him, and I also don't want to have to live a straightedge lifestyle on his behalf. TT___TT; I don't know what to do, or if I should tell him or not.

Sorry about taking so long to respond Fabby, I went to bed before you posted.

On to your dilemma. I would tell him. It will probably eat away at you until you do and if you do it now he won't feel like your hiding something from him. Plus, if you were with his sister he might find out some other way eventually. You should also probably let him know how much you've given up for him and that it means alot to you to be able to smoke once in a while in moderation and have him respect that.

*hugs* I don't think he'll hate you Fabby, but if he finds out from someone else or if you wait to long to tell him, he might be even more angry because he'll think you're trying to hide it from him.

I'm not HIDING it from him, per say... I'm just not telling him.
If he were to ask, I wouldn't lie. Does that make it any better?

I dunno how I'd even bring that up. I'm amazed he doesn't already know. I had assumed he would have smelled it on me after I went back downstairs. O___o;;

I feel like I'm trying to tell him I cheated on him or something. xDD

I'm not saying that you are hiding it from him I 'm saying he might feel like you are if he finds out from someone else or if you take a long time to tell him. I mean, it's good that you wouldn't lie if he asked but your still keeping something that you both feel is big from him and that can't be good for your relatinship in the long run.

He might. I can see why. But... still... at this point, telling him seems WAY more intimidating. I mean, it's been two days. And he might not even believe his sister... she does make up a ton of bullshit about me, after all.
I don't even know. e___e;; I don't keep things from him, but this seems like more trouble than it's worth to go into. He'll freak out and it's not really even a big deal.

Fabbbyyy, the longer you wait the harder it will be to tell him and then if you don't and he finds out anyway it will end up being an even bigger deal to him than it is now.
