bum de bum de bum... so I'm guessing the new challenge will be up when the event ends?
Weeell, I have to get on a plane in about 5 and a half hours and I don't know if I'll have an internet connection while I'm away... I get back on the 22nd so I suppose... if the entries are due before then and you don't hear from me then I have no internet and you can consider that my extension :/

alllssooo... it would be awesome, if someone doesn't mind, for someone to collect an event set for me to buy from them once I get back if I don't have a connection?

Oh wow, such close scores. @[email protected];; I actually thought I was gonna be the eliminated one for sure, because I didn't have an explanation with mine (I mean, the judges did question the petals, after all xDD). ^^;;

I was confident Sizzla and Slowtrain would survive. XD I wasn't sure what the judges would think of the rest of us.

Woo, congrats again, slow! XD

I'm a bit disappointed I got out, but it was far from being one of my better avatars - I'm no good at cosplays. Oh well, it was definitely fun participating though! I'd like to think I learned a thing or two on avatar making as well. And in a way, I'm kind of relieved, I was starting to run out of gold to spend on outfits for the contest >>

Anyway, good luck to the rest of the contestants! I'll definitely keep watch to see how things turn out x3

I was fairly shocked at the outcome of this round myself. From the entries and descriptions provided, I thought someone else was going to be out but the judges thought differently.

I'm disappointed that you're out too, Creps. You make very interesting avatars and I've enjoyed judging them. Unfortunately, you can only work with what you're given, and sometimes what you're given just cannot make a very good avatar. I've seen that happen a few times throughout this (and I just realized that this sounds like something against Seiki, which it totally isn't) - sometimes the best that can be done with a certain theme just cannot win. And once it gets down to the line, that can be the thing that knocks you out.

EDIT: Wow, Slow has won four times. xD

Aww, I'm sad that you're out too, Creps. :< Your avatars do inspire me, especially since you mostly work with male avatars, and I find those extremely difficult to work with. :x I'll miss you though, and you really did do a good job. :>

And lolz, slow is on a roll. xDD;;

Seiki, you make me very curious though too. ^^;;

I know some of the challenges haven't been that great this cycle. I wanted to do an overall theme but it didn't work out how I had planned. I don't think that my challenges were entirely well thought out even if they made sense to me. I knew what I was looking for in them, but I don't think I portrayed that well enough. For the next cycle, I'll probably stick to a broader theme than a "green" theme.

Unfortunately, what happens is towards the end of the contest, I find that people are tired and start to lack the will to keep up with it. That was something that I did as a contestant, and I know that everyone who's been working hard on their entries are trying their best but I would imagine that it's getting more and more troublesome to keep up with as time goes on.

Next cycle I'm going to introduce some twists to the contest to give it more of a life. Expect to see some more fresh ideas then!

Aww, thanks so much you guys ^^ It was definitely fun while it lasted xD
It's true that I might have done better with a female avatar, but well, everybody always does female avatars and I wanted to challenge myself to see how well I would do with a male avatar. (That and, well, I'm not all that familiar with female items/layering anyway so the outcome might have been the same, and I don't have any female items in my inventory either)

But yeah, I'll keep watching to see how things go. At this point, anyone could win, so I'm really curious to find out who will end up the winner! x3

Seiki - I haven't seen any problems with the challenges this round. They seemed fine to me.
Although, more ones that were less specific (I.E. Rather than "Dress up as this one particular thing," "dress up in this theme." Like the thrift store one) would have left more room for individual style to shine through (not that it hasn't). But the "dress as this one particular thing" challenges are also, well, more challenging.

I think having an overreaching theme like "Green" kind of limits people to some extent. There is more challenge there, but also more risk of people being burned out on doing similar types of avatars each time. Something brown, green, planty... metals and elements. I don't want to say that some of the entries have looked a lot like each other, but sometimes the theme sort of felt like a repeat.

I suppose also there's a personal angle to this... As much as I'm all-for going green and saving the environment, having an entire cycle of green messages feels a little preachy to me (I know it wasn't your intention) and I sort of tune things out after awhile. :/ I can't enjoy the movie "Fern Gully" or any movie or show that does this. (The reason why I stopped watching Captain Planet after awhile, actually.)

This is why my public relations degree is still in limbo. >_>; The only PR jobs around here are for hospitals or non-profit organizations and I just sort of go mind-drooly over "awareness" campaigns. D: It's nothing to do with your theme, it's just something my brain sort of balks at. XD;

If nothing else, cycle contestants who make it past a few rounds usually have more items to choose from. XD; So as "seasons" go on, outfits become more creative. :3 I like that. Every time an update is coming I'm like, "I wonder how Project Mene people will use this!" and "I hope the AC regulars are going to be excited. :3"

I'm just sort of rambling on. Y'know none of this was meant to discourage you, Seiki. I think you're doing a good job or even a great job. When you try new things, you learn. It takes tries, sometimes, to get it right. And you know I'm not talking about nothing as that's what I'm doing with events. Figuring out what works and what people respond to and what doesn't so much. :B

I actually like the use of themes because it is a challenge, and, beyond that, I prefer working with a theme rather than just making something that looks good but means nothing. I've really enjoyed the vast majority of the challenges, including the water/fire/air/etc one in which we were all assigned specific things. They can be difficult, but succeeding at them requires contestants to think outside the box and shows real talent.

But I do think that such challenges as dress up as this character can be extremely limiting unless you take major creative liberties like many of us did, because this contest is supposed to be about who can create original and attractive avatars, not who can do the best job of copying an outfit from somewhere else.

To that end, I do appreciate the fact that Creps works with male avatars, and I know he can make some really good outfits. The outfit he made for this round really did look a lot like Wheeler, and was one of only two that I may have been able to recognize without context clues. I certainly couldn't have done that for Slow's outfit. But at the same time, I didn't actually much like Crep's outfit as an outfit, whereas I did like Slow's as an outfit. So, I think that would be really difficult to judge. Which is more important--doing a great job of matching the theme or making an extremely attractive outfit? Of course, there does need to be a balance of the two, but for rounds like this I think it's much harder to combine the two, whereas broader themed rounds allow for more wiggle room.

Cherry-flavored rainbow...
So if you taste the rainbow, it only tastes like cherry.
But there are no cherry skittles.
But the skittles taste like the rainbow.
But the rainbow is cherry-flavored...

I think I need to change my avatar. ><
