Are new people not aloud to try out?
I notice that most of the time there are contestants they already have at least 5 past entries in other rounds

Pix: I know. D: I can't believe I made it this far.

Suona: The game consists of many rounds. It's like a reality tv show. There were originally ten contestants, and each round one is eliminated.

And the next round is the last one, so there will be three contestants left. One of them is going to win.

So what happens in the last round? Is there a 'fashion show' like they have on Project Runway where we have to come up with a selection of outfits?

Or is there just a final round?

Its kind of just a final round. Though I guess that wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't know how it would work though.

Yeah, the details would probably be tricky I'd imagine... Maybe next cycle?

You could always do something like, design three nature/green/environment related outfits and include an explanation of how each fits the theme.

Yeah, maybe next cycle.

Cami, that could work but I would rather the contestants had more that they could work with within the theme of the cycle than that.

I'm so anxious about the results this round. XD Usually I'm pretty good about leaving the thread alone for a few days, but this round I've been checking it like five times a day. <<,,

Well, I submitted my scores. Sorry guys, I didn't realize that the first post had been updated until earlier today (which is weird, because I've been dropping in to check on this thread every day). xD;;

Also... I feel like I have to apologize for my critiques this round. I didn't really have much to say about them so I rambled a lot. Now that I've read some of them over again, it almost seems like I marked people down for silly reasons. But I always study the avatars and give scores based on my first impressions. Then, as I go back and write my critiques, I alter the scores as needed. So... if my description doesn't do your avatar justice, I'm sorry! ;___;

Just know that I always do take the time to think it through and I don't try to give random or subjective scores. I look for the same things in each avatar and I give away and take away points based on similar criteria each round. : )

But yeah... this is just kind of a heads up because I really rambled and spent time talking about how I felt your avatar matched up with your reference pictures and other random things. xD;;

*freaks out*

I've never been particularly worried about getting through bit now I'm ridiculously nervous, I can't get over the feeling that my entry isn't good enough and I'm going to be eliminated, which would SUCK :/

No worries, Pixore. =O
If you've been doing what you've been doing like normal, then it shouldn't be that bad, right? =P <3<3

And gawd slow, I feel the same. xDD;;
Although, I'm preparing myself. ^^;;

And Cami, I would be doing the exact same thing as you. @[email protected];; Good thing I'm out of the house with no internet everyday for at least nine hours, therefore leaving me incapable of checking every damn hour. xDDD;;

That and I didn't try out for the contest. haha.
You make a good tree. xD It's too bad you're not in the contest.

I have a question for other judges.
How do you come up with the scores?
Like, I've seen some people who start with a ten, and then deduct things methodically for things that are bad.
It kind of makes me feel bad because I don't do that at ALL. xD I just kind of come up with a number based on how much I like it and how much it fits.
The more I look it, I do sometimes change the score. I also compare it to the scores I gave the other contestants that round. Like, for example, "Well, I gave A a 7, and B here definitely has a better avatar than A, but it's not as good and C, who I gave a 9, so A would get an 8." Or "This is about even with D, who got a 7, so I'll give them a 7 too." And sometimes I get like "THIS ONE HAS TO WIN. 9."
I'm not sure that I've ever given out a ten... If I have, it wasn't recently.

Anyway, Imma go send my scores in now to appease you anxious contestants. xD

@Cherry: That's basically what I do when I'm judging each round (lol, I tried to explain it in my post earlier). I give them a score and then adjust it as necessary after I've written the critique and compared it to other contestants. :)

I just feel like that's the fairest way to do it. I wouldn't want to leave the scores as whatever I jotted down based on my first impression. I also don't like starting with 10 points and taking off points because then I'd always be nitpicking (which, by the way, I already do way too often anyway). Each contestant has different styles as well so it's kind of difficult to always use the same criteria to judge them. I mean, balance and flow are things that you always need to look for, but there are other things that are difficult to take individual points off for... such as the overall appearance. Also, if you use the 10 point system and methodically take off points for things that don't work well in the avatar, it's sometimes easier to overlook all the good things.

Don't feel bad Cherry, that's how I used to do it.
I never really had a set list of deductions either. I judged basically on how much I liked it, how well it fit the theme, and also tried to be fair with what the contestants had to work with.

Yeah, I always take into consideration what the contestants have to work with. I may make comments on how I wished it could be different, but if there were no better way to do it given the items we have, then I'd never count it against them.

I wore three entirely unique outfits today in real life. One to an interview, one to relax for a couple of hours, and one to a casual networking meeting.

My avatar. Halp?
(I'd rather not get rid of the bunny. I know it doesn't "go," but it does for me because there's a bunny that lives in my backyard that I call the pirate bunny so... yeah...)
Think it'd look better with a black cravat instead?
I am going to get a blue polka dotted head wrap bandanna thing as soon as I can afford it.

xD Cherry, right now I can't really give suggestions. xD If I tried to right now with my head as blurry feeling as it is, you would probably end up looking like a mushroom. xD
But.....I have GOT to see this pirate bunny theme. xD
