You should offer awards for people bringing in new blood. Like if you get a new applicant to apply, you receive one clothing item, or something. Encourages people to spread the news, and you could ask people to donate clothing items they don't use anymore to the cause.

Ooh, that's a good idea Allan. I've been thinking of ways to try to drum up new interest, but I haven't had much luck. :(

All of my entries were made with the MAC. :lol: But I had to edit facial features with photoshop.

Not really. XD I used new items too but I had to add them in. I would have liked to just buy pieces, but I've been saving my gold and I don't have many commons in my inventory to start with. Someday though~

I think it did work out for the better. :) I tried to explore items that weren't used very much and incorporated them when I could. I had to be selective though and consider the judges' tastes as well as my own aesthetic.

I joined Project Mene partially to help me grow my inventory, so while I occasionally tried things out in the MAC, all but one of my outfits were made with my own inventory and I bought things I needed.

Allan, that is a good idea and one that I've considered before but I would rather try and get the contest out there with some of my other ideas first. I just haven't had enough time to be on in the past couple of months to fully try and get it out there though.
I wouldn't mind doing a referral prize though if I can get people to refer new users to the contest! I wouldn't expect anyone to offer up old items that they don't use for referral prizes however. That's not something users should have to provide for my contest. |
I think I first joined project mene because I was cocky lol. I loved avatar contests on gaia...and was good at them and figured it would transfer over....and when I lost that time I threw a bit of a hissy fit and swore I wasn't coming back lol
and yet here I stand....though I do feel I have a much better idea of color and layering now. |

I'll try pimping Project Mene. But most people I've talked to about this seem to be rather intimidated by the other applicants for some reason and is afraid that their inventory isn't 'large' enough for it. o_o |
I do say in the faqs though that they could even use photoshop to put their outfits together! I don't care how the outfit is made haha. They can use their inventories, MAC, photoshop, paint, whatever.
They shouldn't be intimidated. Its all meant to be fun for everyone! |
