Cause, being a tropical country we're more prone to dressing in short shorts, mini skirts, tank tops, flip flops, tube tops, and etc. ^^;; Stuff than can be seen as too revealing and all for people who aren't used to our climate.

I think it just makes sense to wear less clothing in warmer climates. That's part of why people in LA wear so much less than people in Boston (mah city).

Well, technically yes, but because you can say that we still are a little more conservative people know the proper way of bending down to get something or whatever. ^^;; Only reasons they would expose more than needed are that they either forget because they're in a rush or whatever and don't care or are being purposefully revealing for you-know-what. >.>;;

Short shorts and mini skirts we do see here. There WERE people who tried to get them banned once. Futile action, really. :lol:

I mean, come on. We've seen enough on the net, banning them would make the curious even more curious, and may worsen these 'urges', as they put it. Even the standard white button-up shirts and blue pinafores (standard (British influenced) uniforms for school), the claimed the material too thin because the bras could be seen under them and this is the cause of rape cases? >_____>

Lolz, I guess that's why our school uniform skirts here are always only till the knee and below. Knee-length (or a smidge above that) would be the shortest skirts can go. Dunno about too-thin blouses here though. I guess it's a problem? Doesn't help that people love wearing colorful bras in the first place. xDD;;

I used to wear a really specific uniform in Mexico, the bra problem was avoided with a mandatory vest lol.

Our blouses were yellow-ish and checkered, so there were no bra problems. xDD;; They were also thick enough as well, luckily. XP <3<3

Similar to what Iro is saying, I was reading about child pornography the other day (...words that should rarely be spoken in public), and there was this really interested article about how there is an extreeemely low number of pedophiles--and in fact the largest US distributor of child pornography is the police department trying to bait pedophiles--but because of the uproar against child pornography, we now create an unconscious connection between children and sex. It causes the average person to be a pedophile because we're inspecting pictures of children much more closely and trying to decide if the way they're posed or this lack of a shirt here or this bath picture might be used to turn someone on.

I went to private school so even though I am american I wore a uniform as well. I miss mine so thats not all that strange Platty.

We had a nice hunter green plaid knee length with a yellow blouse, we also had a vest...hunter green.

@Cami- god yes...that is the biggest issue here in NY as well....though we do have a few actual pedifiles as well.....one was arested for doing things to a one year old set of twins....boy ad girl.

And then you get the slightly ridiculous reverse side, where parents are arrested for taking innocent pictures of their children in a bath (who doesn't have pictures like that from their childhood) or the 16-year-olds who were charged with child pornography for taking naked pictures of themselves.

Those situations are almost laughable.

Its the same with child abuse though. My friend knows a child being abused and has gone time and time again to CPS and they keep telling her the parents are good people....yet my father who is a good person was followed for years because my sisters friend told the school psychologist my father hit my sister....never happened.

I wouldn't be able to get away from this place if I wanted to. Best community ever ;o;
