@ Cora : I hope it doesn't happen anymore then? :x That would be terrible. :'< </3
@ NumNum : Agreed~ xDD;; <3<3 Also, yeah, definitely. :x I think one prime example of mine is DeviantArt. There are SO many vain pictures there that try to pass off as "artistic" when they're just stretching it, I think. :x I mean, of course artistry is subjective, but it can still be seen if it was for professional photography or not. And then they get multitudes of page views because they're pretty and young. xDD;; Reminds me of something I read before, about how one of the easiest ways to get pageviews on DeviantArt is to post vain pictures of your young pretty selves. Sad, really. But I could just be ranting. ^^;;
@ Hime : Hihi~! :'D <3<3 Well, nothing much, really. xDD;; About to go to sleep? ^^;;

Deviant art popularity=vain pictures/anime fanart. Sad but true OTL
There are some genuinely good people, though.

Don't forget bishounen! And scantily-clad and sexy furries. Yep. xDD;; Definitely sad but true. :'< I can understand if you want to make it a userpic or whatever, but you know, vain pictures should be for Facebook or other sites, not DeviantArt. xDD;;
And yeah, there are definitely diamonds in the rough. ^^ They just are rarer these days. :'<

How can you forget the bishies? D: They're like, bishies! xDD;; There's a gazillion and one artsies dedicated to them. Especially the seraphic/demonic ones. I've seen enough to last me a lifetime. 8DD;; Although I won't be opposed to liking a particular bishie piece if it's well-done. XP <3<3
And I have not seen that fandom. You scare me though, so I dunno if I wanna check it though. >.>;;

Mary Sue's are so easy to make.
I'm really proud of my main character because she is not a mary sue.

My only Mary Sue is the protagonist. Most unfortunate thing to happen D8
And then there's god. But it's god. It (genderless in my story) has to be godly o.e

*giggles* god must indeed be god.
The only god in my story is a goddess banned from the land of the gods until she learns to be more GODLY.

She is clumbsy and speaks her mind against the elder gods and devulges too much in human affairs. She is constantly helping the humans in situations that the elder gods put them in.

I think the whole Mary Sue thing is a bit silly. Just make characters that feel real to you and work well with your story; don't worry about a list of characteristics that you should avoid. Everything can be done well. Just because it isn't done well 99% of the time, doesn't mean that you won't be the person to pull it off.

Its my opinion that they can have some mary sue characteristics....just not all...they also need to be real. Real people have faults.

Exactly. There are a lot of things that bugged me about the Twilight series. One of them happened at the end of the book when a certain change happens and that character changes completely into little miss super-powerful awesome and her impossible perfect spawn who everyone LOVES despite the previous happenings in the story. Let's not forget everyone has a crush on a particular character whose only redeeming and relatable qualities and faults are lost in the last book o3o. /rant.
It's okay to have Mary Sues, but not when they alienate people from the story.

Its true Bella is totally a Mary Sue. I still loved the Twilight Books though. The books mind you.....not the movies...the movies sucked majorly.
