There are SO many vain pictures there that try to pass off as "artistic" when they're just stretching it, I think. :x I mean, of course artistry is subjective, but it can still be seen if it was for professional photography or not. And then they get multitudes of page views because they're pretty and young. xDD;; Reminds me of something I read before, about how one of the easiest ways to get pageviews on DeviantArt is to post vain pictures of your young pretty selves. Sad, really. But I could just be ranting. ^^;;

I think the whole Mary Sue thing is a bit silly. Just make characters that feel real to you and work well with your story; don't worry about a list of characteristics that you should avoid. Everything can be done well. Just because it isn't done well 99% of the time, doesn't mean that you won't be the person to pull it off.

Its my opinion that they can have some mary sue characteristics....just not all...they also need to be real. Real people have faults.

Exactly. There are a lot of things that bugged me about the Twilight series. One of them happened at the end of the book when a certain change happens and that character changes completely into little miss super-powerful awesome and her impossible perfect spawn who everyone LOVES despite the previous happenings in the story. Let's not forget everyone has a crush on a particular character whose only redeeming and relatable qualities and faults are lost in the last book o3o. /rant.

It's okay to have Mary Sues, but not when they alienate people from the story.

Its true Bella is totally a Mary Sue. I still loved the Twilight Books though. The books mind you.....not the movies...the movies sucked majorly.

I want to see them when I have time to waste. Otherwise, I'd rather see something else >->;
