The above paragraph is an apt description of your standard "furry", however there is a small but VERY vocal minority of the "yiff yiff" kind of division. Even though this sort of furry probably only takes up 1/10th of the fandom this is by FAR the type you hear about most often from anti-furry biased sources.

Furry porn is dangerously close to bestiality. Sorry to anyone who likes it, but it is... However the ones who like it seem to be in a minority, with the ones liking the odd fetishes like "vore" and "macro" a very small minority indeed.

Furries get a lot of crap thrown at them on the internet in relation to the activities of the minority of their fanbase. They have a reputation to reacting to this in an over the top manner (such as comparing their treatment to the Holocaust), which realy doesn't do them many favours.

However on the whole they are just a group of people who are fans of a single concept, seem to know how to have fun, and are doing alright for themselves in terms of publicity.

Well, I'm specifically thinking of people who get popular out of badly-drawn furries mostly because they're naked/almost naked and have certain large body parts. Those are the ones that drive me insane OTL

I agree with Platty.
I find all porn to be unpleasant looking, especially the horribly drawn kind (hentai is so disgusting). And I just dislike furries in general. I dont find them appealing, so that is why I had said ew. ;P But each to their own, you know. :]

And now that its mentioned, furry porn would be rather gross in its own way. Its kind of like people getting their kicks off of seeing animals do it. :/

I think the guy was annoyed because all of the other urban dictionary entries were like, "Furries are people who like watching animals have sex" or something.

Technically, anytime our avatars are wearing fox ears/tails or cat ears/tails, we could be considered furries.

@ Cami - Yes, I consider that a furry (people wearing the cat/fox ears and stuff) and it drives me bonkers. ><;; All the cat ears and tails kinds of outfits that people have been wearing have been making me really grumpy. :X I'm such a brat. D: But they just make me think of the people that always wear them in real life, and I have met a couple that just take it too far and it has turned it into something I loathe. Sad enough to say, since its something thats not even much of a big deal at all. But I can't help it anymore. Its just the sterotypical people that act like they're cats that have bugged me, and that just made it all annoying. The only time I ever use them on here is if i'm actually trying to completely portray the animal or it suits the theme in some way. But I still like some avis that use them. :]

Also, I mean no offense to those that like furries and do wear stuff that would be furry-like. You as a person dont bother me. :] Just as long as you dont start acting like you're an animal, i'm all good. Haha. I'll just glare at the avi on and off sometimes. ;P

And yeah, I wouldn't say the furries is just related to the porn. O_o;; Thats rather silly of people to say.
Yeah, there is quite a bit of it that is porn, but there is just as much, if not more, of hentai. Not to mention all the kinky stuff and other weird fetishes. But furries is just a "race", so to speak. Not people that like watching animals have sex.
