I know the feeling though! Sometimes I'll look at my old avatars and be like "omg how did I think this looked good?!?!" XD;; But I guess, with the possibilities that we had before, those were good? XD; and yeah, that was kinda the main thing I noticed too. I had a white steampunk cravat before but I thought it looked too white compared to the gray-ish other whites on the avatar. any suggestions? xD; |
Yeah, maybe. At the time I made that, I don't think we had the basic items yet, so I couldn't have used white legwarmers (which would have looked better)
But why I didn't have a chicky to get some yellow by my feet is beyond me. Though I think I may have put one on later (after I saved that) Some white gloves? And... something by your feets. I can't tell if you have any stockings on or not, but if you do, try some white ones. Or white/black if just white is too much. |
Hmm yeah, the basics are lifesavers haha. I don't use them very much though. The shorts are.. really short lol so they wouldn't look right on a guy avatar. And the legwarmers don't look right with/layer over pants/shorts, so I don't use those either. The only ones I use are the tops XD; even then, rarely.
And the chicky.. you mean plucky right? Probably because it's not completely yellow, here's a gold/ivory color in it too. Ohh yeah gloves! Good idea haha, I didn't think of that because I hada white base at first XD; took it off though because it put too much white on top. as for stockings, well I'm wearing those demonate boots so you wouldn't really be able to see them xD; lemme see what I can do though. Yeah, I don't use the shorts too much either. They tend to make my avatar look like she has big hips. Doesn't look right with the other items. The stockings are a total lifesaver, though. And the camis come in handy, though they don't look right with many of my avatars (style clash). I like the legwarmers, but because they're so big, I can't use them too much. They throw off the balance frequently. Have you got white gloves on now? They look kind of silverish. Which goes with the silver items that you've got on, but not the hairpin and the feathers on your hat. I was thinking the white space gloves. But you could have those on, I'm not sure. Ohh, yeah, those boots. I couldn't really tell. Maybe some shorter boots? |
I take screen shots of my avatars when I decide to change so I can go back to them later if I want. I have probably 60 outfits saved?
Creps, I think it's a little unbalanced. The hairpin looks off, and I can't figure out what the shape is supposed to be. Its kind of all over the place. It would be a lot better with just the one sword, and without the hairpin. The circle weapon CI thing and the hairpin throw off the flow/balance. |
Cherry- Yeah the shorts are kinda wide. They look okay on females depending on how you use them, but with guys like I said they just look off. They don't even cover the boxers completely >>;
And yeah, the legwarmers are kinda big. they create a big chunk of color that can be hard to balance. You could use a skirt, the vday half skirts for example, to cover a bit of the leg warmers to cut down on the color concentration a bit. You girls have it so easy lol >> When it comes to avatar making at least. I have the silver dragon gloves, I'd buy the white space ones but I'm out of pure right now. I think I'm gonna go with silver though since now anyway the only white thing is the feathers which isn't even noticeable. As for the boots I tried the only other black boots I had, the boots from hell and it looked really weird. I'm content with just having the anklets I guess. Thanks again for the advice! Seiki- I took off the chakram and replace the hairpin with another one. Does it look better now? I'm probably just gonna scrap this one, it really bothers me, but I don't want to make a new avatar right now lol. Thanks for the tips! |

I'm having a hard time choosing because I'm probably biased towards the purple, but I really do like the one on the left too XD The red brings a sort of elegant feel without relying on gold, which I did... but I also like the shape of the jacket for the one on the right.
The only thing that sort of weird me out in all three of them is the hair color. I did something like that for the first round (only backwards. I used items to accommodate the hair color, not the other way around) and found that it was unnecessary. I just don't get so much of the Mr.Mayor feel with his hair color different, but that could just be me >w<; It does add to the "new edge" though XD |

Really? I did blond for my HQ avi, and didn't distribute the color, and I still won the round XD;
There are times when they really won't look for perfect matching, as long as it fits the person. But still, it's all up to you ^^ I kept the hair blond on mine just because I'm so used to seeing him that way >w< |

Aw... I hate when that's the case. It's the reason my geisha avi had so much on it. Just for color matching. So now my flower doesn't match my clothes and I'm flaunting it XD (that and I wanted to wear two pairs of shoes at the same time OwO)
