Yeah, I joined a LONG while back, disappeared, appeared briefly a few months later, grabbed my first item which happened to be a CI for that month, disappeared again, reappeared in and out till I finally reappeared for good at the very end of the '08 year. :yes:

Well I was on a site called Magivolve....and the owner Keyeske (and his little sidekick Angelcop) pissed off the userbase sooooooo badly that all the old users(including some of the staff.) revolted and did a planned protest where we spammed all the forums, (I normally dont condone spamming but this was really warrented), crashed the system, and then quit....leaving the site forever in a state of chaos and never to return. Well leaving Magivolve left me homeless, so a friend of mine pointed me in the direction of here.....took me awhile to join though......after the incident with gaia makeing me quit and then magivolve betraying me as well......I was leary of avatar sites....but well....I eventually joined...and well here I am.

I had a friend tell me a new site was opening up and that I should join. I stayed, she didn't.

And it was technically the second month that Mene was open that I joined since I joined in March 07.

Sizz was here days after the site opened in Feb 07.

Wow.. you and Sizz are like super, super old people. o.o

I think I got here on Mene back in April 07? Maybe earlier. xD

I had to run away from Gaia. I couldn't be active on there as it went downhill. ; ^ ;

I clung to it for a long time.....after all it was my home I had to stick with it through thick or thin....I was hacked of alot of things...and gaia went oh well your loss....but I still stayed.....I left when the developer told us he didn't give a shit what we thought.

I tried clinging to Gaia, but after a certain point, I just left and went off to other sites. Now I can't remember what that certain point was anymore! XD

@ Cora; eh? I've never been hacked.
Then again, I've never had any rares. The only thing I manage to get now is that oriental Hime thingy.
Other than that... I have squat on there. xDD I just buy cheap stuff through the marketplace.

But yeah, that was bullshiznitey. I don't like Gaia's developers attitudes.
You can always send reports to ban people, they'll do that. They just won't deal with loss of items.

I lost my halo and three full sets of 03 stuff (minus the halo, EI's and DI's included) and a full 5 sets of 04 shit.

I was a regular donator since the begining.....this point was the beginning of the end for me. I have NO respect for Gaia.

The thing is I understand that mene is in a financial crisis and they may have to resort to alternate measures to stay alive.....but I dont ever forsee them becoming gaia.....because Inso, Jelly, Juru, CK and everyone else care about the well being of the site....not just the money.

@Miro: Actually, after Gaia, I went to Zantarni. And by June 27, 2007, which just happens to be a few days after I joined Mene, I joined Eternal Nox and focused solely on it. But then it got closed cause the admins had no more time for it, so then I floated around avatar sites, mainly sticking with Zantarni. But I got irked by the sudden change in admins since I just didn't like the new one so I left there and floated back to Mene, ready to try and obtain everything I had missed out on, save for my fan that I had got back when it was released as a CI. >w<

Yeah, me and Seiki are old old old! XD I joined in February '07 after hearing about it on Zantarni. :yes: I've got a lot of items on Zantarni still, but the forums are so dead over there that I can't really do anything with them.

I wish I joined in February, then I wouldn't have had to buy the V-day 07 items. *still missing two of them*

I joined in April 2007, right after they stopped selling crowns and the Easter event ended, doh! I visited Mene almost a month before I joined, but for some reason I didn't make an account the first time.

I wasn't actually around for the Vday event. I managed to get my Vday items by buying them with crowns and gold, and by winning contests. :D Yume always ran great contests. XP

Nice! :) I ended up getting the crowns before they spiked in price, but it took me several months. I saved up initially for the welcome shirt since I thought it was really cute. I guess those investments did pan out. :lol:

Thinking of Mene as a gigantic family, I think you'd probably be one of the great-grandmothers. :lol:

...I followed someone's signature on Gaia to here. :ninja: And I created my account (and my mule) that very day I discovered this place! It was my second avatar site of all time - I don't count Neopets, since that was just... That childish void that filled the gap of time before Go-Gaia and whatnot. :roll:

Man. :shock: I tried checking out Neopets a year ago or so, and my dream finally came true! Your pets can now wear clothes and whatnot! [/sidebar]

But really, that site was just a stepping stone. And I consider Gaia the same. xP Although I'm still friends on Facebook with two people I was very close to on Gaia. :ninja: I tried to get the one person to join Ava, and the other to join Mene, but neither of them stuck around for long. :gonk:

I only have a few close friends that I still chat with from my Gaia days. Its been harder to keep in touch with some of them these days because the economy has been weird and they've been doing a lot of moving or dealing with family stuff so I've had to cut back with them, but I do try to stay in contact with those friends if I can through facebook or twitter or other social means.

And I tried to get my friends to join up on Mene, which they did. But they kind of outgrew avatar sites in general for better things. Or maybe they just grew up and moved on with their lives? I don't really know. But they're still there for me to talk to when I want.
