Of course you would know if the world was going to end right?
I have to agree with your theory. Most shows do so well in their first season, and then when that season's conflict is over, they have to come up with something else to keep it going because it was good ratings. I already feel that way with Glee this season, which is unfortunate because it's my favorite show. So far it feels very forced. None of the episodes have been natural towards the storyline like the first season was, and all the song choices have been harsh. But I still watch it because I love Kurt (Chris Colfer) and I want to see how they play out the season. |
I don't know - I think I have been enjoying myself with glee! I just need some songs I can sing along too honestly. And yes! I love Kurt!
|
I like the songs in glee. I only kind of watch the episodes.
|
Glee is my go-to show to be silly. xDD;; I don't have to think too much when I watch it, and I need a stress reliever! Plus, I love their covers (the songs in Duets were really nicely done, I think ^^), so why not right? >;P <3<3
I agree with your theory as well, Cami. :'> I guess that's why the "shows about nothing" kind of series stay on the longest with the most number of seasons (ex. Seinfeld, Friends, etc), because the problems with continuity and plot aren't as evident. xDD;; Well, those kinds of shows and "cop" shows like CSI and all, I guess. ^^;; I think I need a new series to get into though. D: Right now I have Glee, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries (recently got into it for no real reason xDD), How I Met Your Mother, Criminal Minds, Bones, the CSIs (occasionally), and Big Bang Theory (occasionally as well). Something seems missing from my list. >.<;; |
Criminal Minds= Love!
But the only show I could not get rid of like EVER is Castle. Nathan Fillian is hot ^.^ |
Nathan Fillian is forever going to be Captain Hammer from the short movie Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog for me. xDD;; When I tried watching Castle before all I could imagine was him singing. XP
|
I love How I Met Your Mother, but you can see the first season thing there too. The first season started with Lily and Marshall getting engaged and Ted and Robin going on their first disastrous date and deciding to just be friend. There's a couple of easily identified plots going through the season. And the last episode has Lily and Marshall breaking up and Ted and Robin getting together. I still love it for its humor and characters, but it has much less direction and overarching plot.
Other shows I like are Chuck, Community, Psych, and Modern Family. Oh, and Doctor Who. ---------- For the record, I've never seen Castle, but the fact that Captain Hammer is in it makes me want to. |
That's true. :'< I'm mainly still following it because I love the cast so much. xDD;; And I really want to know who the mother is! In my own little world it's Robin, but that's just me. ^^;;
I'm also hoping though that How I Met Your Mother doesn't extend for another two or more seasons though. >.<;; Seriously, the premise is kind of being stretched for far too long. I love the show, believe me, but I may just lose respect for them if they keep trying to milk the show for all its worth like this. D: Their premise can only hold for so long, you know. ^^;; And oh! I used to watch Chuck, but I sort of forgot about it. xDD;; I should get into that again. And I watched a couple episodes of Modern Family before as well. Might get into that as well, if I find more time. :'> Never heard of Community though. o_o;; |
Community is hilarious in all the wrong ways. They mostly parody other things, and, though it has its ups and downs, when it's good, it's fabulous. There was one episode which may well go down in history of the best episode of anything ever in which there's a paintball tournament in the school and it's all done as this sort of after apocalypse over the top action movie.
|
Sounds real interesting! =O I may try and watch a preview or something then. :'> Gonna search for it later, since my sad sad country doesn't show it regularly on TV. xDD;;
|
Aww. Evil sad sad country.
Okays. I gots to head to bed. <3 Laters. |
Night then~! ^^
Nice to finally get to chat with you again after so long. XP <3<3 |
I like Modern Family - that is a good show. And I watch Mike and Molly - it's just feel good! And takes place in Chicago!
|
What is Mike and Molly? =O Is that a comedy show?
*pokes the living hell out of lurker Keyori btw* xDD;; |
Yup, it's a sitcom - I don't think it's going to go anywhere ~ But it's just a simple little show and super adorable.
|
I'll look it up then to see if I'll be interested in following it then. ^^

I want to now though. |
You wanna talk about a show that's still trying to milk what little they've got left? Weeds. Soooo done! If they get another season after this one, I have no idea if I'll be able to make it through until the end. I mean, really. What else could the possibly come up with that they haven't already stretched within an inch of it's life already?
|
Another show to add to the list... House......I think its close to its end.
|
And Gossip Girl. Much as I love it, it should be over now too. It goes like this.
serena is a whore who sleeps with everyone like a male version of chuck without the scheming and can't ever seem to keep a constant friendship with blair who's bipolar attitude makes her the bitch of the show, while deep down underneath all that drama is a very insecure character who's first boyfriend cheated on her with serena who's constant love triangle with dan and nate causes infinite problems with the other characters on the show so that the whole cast is schizophrenic. the end. |
wow....never seen gossip girl.....dont intend to now o.0
|
@ Cora : You should totally watch it! xDD;; It's funny and it has an unexpected ending of sorts. >;P It's less than an hour long even. :'> <3<3
@ Seiki : True. xDD;; I love your summary of the series though! So accurate. XP <3<3 |
Bwahaha, man that gave me a good laugh :P ^^

Sizz, I have to agree that season 3 should have been the ending for the series. Maybe end of season 4 at the latest. It just seems to me that when Agrestic burned down at the end of season 3, it would have been the most reasonable ending spot because it signified an ending of a story, but they just kept on going with it. Silas is my favorite character at this point too. I think Shane was my favorite up until season 5, but no more for the same reasons you mentioned.
As for GG, yes about Frenchie and Chuck. Totally agree there. But no, they needed drama between Chuck and Blair. Blair is a great character. I think out of the entire cast, she has the most redeeming qualities about her besides Eric, but she's so insecure about everything that she puts on this massive front that pretty much ruins the magic of her personal character. |
