We don't even have sirens around here, which we should. Besides that, our weather is so crazy unpredictable that weather stations rarely get it right in the first place.
We don't have sirens either...although there are emergency sirens on my college's campus. I don't know exactly what kind of emergencies they are used for though. XD
Obama's speech on Bin Laden just came on! I say that because major news networks are reporting that Bin Laden's dead and the US has his body.
Really? *has it on Everybody Loves Raymond*
I'm watching ABC right now. No local news tonight, clearly.
Apparently. Maybe the local news will come on afterwards?
Maybe. If this gets over before midnight, i'm going to head to bed when it's over.
Okay.
I actually need to be going to bed here soon...I have to get up "early" in the morning. *has to get up at 8:30 in the morning at it is now after midnight* |
I have my first class at 0800.
Oh. My. Word. There's a helluva crowd in front of the White House! Yikes! Glad I'm not in DC right now. |
Washington DC is like two and a half hours from here...provided you don't get stuck in traffic too bad.
Wow. So you guys are probably pretty noisy right now as well.
Well...I don't here anything but my tv...which is on Everybody Loves Raymond....still... XD
@Ter: Lol. ELR wins over the death of Osama. Nice.
Admittedly this endless news coverage is boring. |
I'd flip it to ABC or NBC or CBS or some other major network if you want to keep up-to-date on what's going on.
I've got it on MSNBC. The crowds in D.C. are amazing.
So are the ones at Ground Zero. I'm seriously glad I'm not in either place right now.
Yeah. I saw that. Makes the old heart smile a little. :)
I never watched any of it. I saw a news announcement about it on yahoo when I went to check that email last night and today when I was at my grandparents and saw the preview for the five 'o clock news.
Ah, yeah. I saw his speech replayed about twenty times. It got freakishly annoying.
I heard that supposedly he was supposed to be on again tonight?
I haven't heard that...but I wouldn't be surprised.
I've also confirmed Taiyo's statement that Osama was indeed hiding in a mansion. Friggin', stiggin'...wow. |
I hadn't heard it either...my grandmother said it. Don't know if it is true or not because I have learned not to believe 90% of the things she says. :/
Seriously? :/ |
I looked and I think your granny is just getting it confused with a rerun of his speech from last night.
Yeah. They found him in a multi-million dollar mansion that was apparently burning their trash and had no internet connection. The military was like..."why does a multi-million dollar mansion not have internet?" And that's why they investigated. :XD There was something else too but I don't recall what it was. Apparently they gave him a "sea burial" too. I was like..."why didn't they bring his body to America to show him and prove that he was him and then cremate him?" It's all a little iffy to me. It's about time they give us some photographic proof or more that it was him since they've already been sitting on this information (it being classified) for an entire week already. What are they waiting for? Why didn't they take him alive and bring him back to the United States to put him on trial and then execute him? I think the U.S. is really freaking out that the shit's about to hit the fan from terrorist retaliation. I don't doubt it. I'm kinda worried about it too...more than normal...since I don't usually take this stuff seriously. |
I try to take things like this at least with a grain of salt.
Well. This time around I'm certain he's dead...but, yeah. It's like, "whatever."
All the Buddhists around here are like "one should not celebrate the death of a man, no matter who he is." It's like: Shut up, you know you're happy he's dead, too. *shakes head* |
