You should try MAC, the Menewshan Avatar Creator. There should be a way to download it in the Avatar forum. Also, you should look at the Multi-wha thread, also in the avatar forum.

I'm afraid that I just love any of the sashes. I wear them here a lot, even though I don't really wear them in real life.

The MAC is very helpful, even though it doesn't have the newer items in it. I believe that somebody is currently updating it however.
Yes, Crepsley KaBob keeps the multi pose thread updated every time something new comes out. It allows you to see what the different poses look like.

I think it would work out well with purple too. There's just so many more blues that its easier to mix them right. Because it wouldn't make sense if just blue looked good with multiple shades, it really makes no sense!
