I agree with Sai although I have alien angel in my novel and some alien species akin to vampires. still working with the vampire idea though.

oh, magic makes sense on a level, but it has its own rules that can sometimes contradict the normal ones.

Bah, I always treat magic like it's a part of nature. Nature follows rules. The laws of physics are humanity's sad attempt at trying to figure out what those rules are. Just because magic breaks the "laws" that humans wrote doesn't mean it's not part of one harmonious whole that we just don't completely understand.
