my new issue is that my computer just deleted everything saved to it. Everything!! From youtube subscriptions to my writings that weren't saved elsewhere. I just lost entire stories and have to restart personalizing my computer from scratch. I don't even have pictures to use as a desktop. Really, some one shoot me now.

I had a problem with my computer just over a year ago where something in the software of the operating system became corrupted. It got to the point where it wouldn't even get to the login screen anymore. I had to completely reinstall the operating system, and some things were never quite right with my PC again after that.
The sound driver got screwed up, and there was something weird with the scroll function. There were other minor problems, but the lack of sound was the most obvious and most annoying issue.
On the up side, since the corruption was in the OS instead of something in the hardware, I managed to recover almost all of my old files. There were a few documents that were lost completely, and there were some others that were reverted to older versions of their save files. Other than that, I needed to reinstall most of my programs, which was a bit of a hassle, but nothing too bad.

Generally, I agree with Nanenna. The world makes us sick in so many ways. I mean, look at the amount of auto-immune diseases these days. I have one that makes me break out on MY TONGUE, I mean at that point that says your body is crying out for help.
And Talentless_Muse, mental illnesses have plenty of symptoms. ._.
Good god, Kat, did someone give your computer a hard reset when you weren't looking. D=?

okay everyone, my computer is magical and fixed itself! It did say I think when it first messed up that it just couldn't get to my account though I don't know what that had to do with public files, but today its as if nothing happened. and now I am saving everything to a flash drive.
You'd think I'd learn after losing a lot of stuff before I had a flash drive when my desktop crashed and the hardware corrupted and it won't even turn on last I checked.

Hello everybody! How are you all today?
I hope that your computer doesn't give you anymore problems, Kat. It's good that you didn't lose all your files at least.
I've read back a bit on the discussion of mental disorders. I think that we all have problems at some time or other, especially when we're in stressful situations.
I know that my husband wishes I had a bit of OCD. As it is, I don't do any cleaning at all!
I understand about the money all having to face the same way. It's arranged that way in my wallet.

I wonder if it were just in safe mode or something? That sounds pretty scary though, to think you've lost everything like that! D: I'm so glad it's okay.

It's why you should regularly back up your files. It's also why I have hard copies of all of my writing. My stories will not vanish without a trace just because of some little computer glitch!

I should do that too, especially since I finally have a computer that can actually read DVDs now.
Egads, why do I have such a hard time typing "especially?" I keep typing espeically. -_-

Sometimes finger just seem to get kind of stupid. I have that happen from time to time too.
I know that I need to back files up regularly, but it's something I don't usually think about all that much until something goes wrong. That's the way things like that always seem to go.

I do back up my old stuff, it seems weird but once it's over and gone I want it saved. XD

Nah. I don't think it's weird. Sometimes I like looking back over my old stuff, so I like hanging onto it too. I still have stuff that I wrote back in high school, which seems rather like an eternity ago to me anymore.
Granted, a lot of my older stuff makes me cringe to read anymore, but I still occasionally like to look back over to see the old ideas I had. The execution of those ideas I don't necessarily care so much for. To see how much my writing has progressed over just a couple of years is really quite something.

I love how much my writing progresses! I'm still getting better and my idea of good is getting stronger so I always know my good writing from my bad which was not always the case a few years ago. I'm only a year removed from high school, so my senior year when I was in a creative writing class is some of my best stuff.

You should always strive to improve your writing. I think that if you don't want to keep bettering yourself, you should probably quit because you've lost the passion for it.
I was very pleased recently when one of my professors complimented my writing, encouraging me to try to get published. He's told us before that he doesn't encourge people, especially in writing, unless he believes they actually have the book worthy talent. Maybe that's why his saying that meant so much to me.

Getting started on packing now would not be a bad idea. ^^
My mom said she was coming up this way today but she hasn't called yet, I wonder if something happened?

My sister is going to arrive later today. She lives in the same county even, but it seems further. I can't wait. I have no clue what exact time though. Probably before dinner? It's been weeks since I've seen her. She's probably packing right now.
I always use google documents so what I write is automatically saved. It's pretty useful. Plus, it means I can write anywhere there's a computer with internet access.

Google documents? That'd be clever...
I've had my computer reformatted three times now; once because of some unspeakable problem, and the other two right after another because we were testing out a new operating software. Thank goodness for external memory, hahaha.
Everyone enjoying their holiday?

Hi!
I did have internet at my dad's, but it was slow, plus I can only get it upstairs and it is freezing upstairs since he keeps the heater low. :/
But I'm back home with good internet and warmth! Also, we have over 2 feet of snow now. But the city is doing a horrible job with the roads though. The next city over's roads are better than ours. Tomorrow, I'll have to shovel snow though. :/

Okay, Mom came up with brothers, sister-in-law, and niece. We went to see the maternal grandmother and aunts who live up in this area and had a nice dinner out together... my first time at a Red Lobster!
I'm so tired right now but I can't go to sleep because it's only 6PM.

Yay for Red Lobster! That's actually where my dad and I went to eat at earlier this afternoon. So, did you like it?
I'm tired as well. It's almost 9:30 PM here. So I could go to sleep, but it is too early. Plus I have to feed my pet on Petville on Facebook at around 1.

It's almost not worth me going home for Christmas. My manager has me scheduled to work both Christmas Eve and the day after. He did the same thing to me for Thanksgiving even though he knows I have to travel. It's pissing me off.

As a vegetarian who has only just started eating a little chicken... not really. Just one item: the alfredo. But it's always the alredo. XD
Why at around 1?! D: Since it's now 11PM here I think I'll be heading off to bed shortly. ^^

Why at around 1? It's because that's when I fed my pet on Petville the previous night and chose the food that lasts 24hours. I didn't want to wake up in the morning just to pay to get my pet out of the pound. XD
Muse, I'd either talk to your manager or go to someone higher up. Although, since it is Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas, you may not be able to get out of it. Especially not this close to the date.
I walked in the snow today to brush snow off my car. I still had snow below while stepping in it and the top of the snow went to my knees. Also, I fell in it coming back out of the snow. It was cold. Colder once I got out of the snow. But it was amusing. The falling, that is.
