It used to be good, so that the agriculture based community was able to get extra light in the morning during the winter. Something like that. Now I say it just aggravates seasonal depression :( I hate not getting enough light in the winter

But nowadays, everybody gets up by the clock and not by the sun...
So it doesn't really matter.

There isn't that much light in the winter anyway.
It's dark when you get up and dark when you go to bed...
