so true. and I can't do more than sew a patch onto a raggedy pair of jeans.

I sewed a pair of silk pajamas a few weeks ago. The person I gifted them to, loved them to death. They were a pretty purple.

Thanks. It was my first complete "outfit" so hopefully I can get to making costumes sooner or later. I found out I need to change my needle every so often, and that it might have been one of the reasons the jammies were puckering.

I know that feeling. I do that with art all the time!

I think I may want to do a sewing class though, try and get over my fear.

that would probably help. I'm always less fearless with art when I HAVE to do something.

It may be a bit hard though because all of the sewing places where there might be sewing classes are an hour away, and so is a college that does that sort of thing. So I dunno. My friend knows how to do these kinds of things more than I do, registering for a class like sewing and whatnot.

hm, that does suck about the distance. I wouldn't want to drive that far for a class.

and have that class cost a lot of money. I'm sure I'll manage. I've been self teaching myself for a while and it's been going good on a lot of simple patterns.

I guess that's the way to go then. you can always have friends help teach you and stuff.

Well what sort of art do you do? What medium do you use?

I do traditional art, but all kinds. I love anime best, but draw portraits and still lifes as well. er, I like watercolors, pastel chalks, and colored pencils best.

Cool. I should probably check out your art shop see what your style looks like. I love getting/buying art of my avvie so if you have an open slot I may order from you.

I never get business for my art shop here. I have shops open on other sites though. I need to update this one. you'd probably get a better sense of my art looking at my DA account.
