Mack was feeling unusually hungry that night. He'd already eaten several peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, as well as half a pack of Budweiser's, but apparently that wasn't enough. His stomach was still growling loudly as ever, and he checked his fridge again. Nothing. Sighing morosely, he checked the time. 11pm. There were no restaurants still open at that time. He wondered if it was possible to die of starvation within the next 6 hours before Zelphie's Burgers opened the next morning.

Dylan walked around the corner with one hand to his mouth, covering his yawn, and another gripping a bag full of food. He wished he had gotten off work a bit earlier, but an unexpected rush kept him longer than he liked. He reeked of alcohol and hoped the walk home would clear some of that up. He guessed that the good thing about staying late was that he got free food. He had wanted to pick something else up on the way home, but by now everything was closed. He pulled out his phone and texted Mack, "On the way there. Bringing food."

Mack was pondering guzzling down what remained of his beer stash in an attempt to stave off the hunger pangs when he heard the sharp beep of his cellphone. Wondering who would text him at such a time, since he rarely had anyone contact him at any time, he walked over to the coffee table and picked it up. It was from Dylan, and he was bringing food! He could've kissed him. Suddenly feeling much more lively than he had been only a minute ago, he eagerly texted back: "You're a lifesaver. I'm dying from starvation here. There's only beer here!" Dylan liked beer, if he remembered correctly. It'd be like a thank-you gift for saving him from certain painful death by hunger.

Yeah it does... I feel tricked! :XD
