Gah! I can't even put it into words.
I know the structure of each chapter is almost the same with slight variations. It's the ones that make more drastic changes or about the Hell Girl that keep me going.
Maybe it's the "moral" that keeps setting me off. Sometimes it's people that don't really need to get "revenge", they could wait it out and be fine. In a why I don't mind that double grave because if they're doing something bad in return than they should be punished as well.
Sometimes it's these people that really should get "revenge" and get that person out of their lives and the lives of the other victims.
But then... why are they doing something bad?
We have a supernatural organization to help get revenge. Why isn't there one to help these poor terrorized people without being punished for eternity?! ><

*sighs* And maybe it's the fact they combine the Buddhist Hell with the Christian Hell, which.... really makes for a confusing philosophical stance... It keeps using these Buddhist symbols and Buddhist types of hell, but then using the Christian's eternal hell.
DX What?! Ai gets a timeline! Lots of those people weren't bad, and they could have worked up good karma in hell to be reborn again! *Shi knows her religions* "Not only are we punishing you for saving your family, you're going to be punished FOREVER!"

The manga tries to make up for this with the "One life to live, so live it well". But that's still a bum deal...

Shi: Yeah, there is a lot of things...weird about it now that you point it out.
The whole double grave thing was a bit iffy with me. I don't like it, then I'm sort of okay with it. -shrugs-

I'm not sure if they did that in the anime. The Buddhist and Christian hell, thing. Although, I'm starting to think they did.
I didn't pay attention to much of the things in there, just the main thing. Ai, people sending someone to hell, and the story that was going on in the main part and with the people sending others to hell. Not much of the details. :lol:;;

There were some messed up things with the people in it. I felt bad about how these good people who were trying to protect themselves and others from the evil ones, and then also being sent to hell. Honestly, it isn't fair in some cases.
Of course, you have to think with other cases, what gives them the right to send others to hell?

Well the double grave thing is very traditional to most cultures when it comes to cursing.
Particularly animistic beliefs.
I've seen it referred to in other stories as well. Like xxxHolic, one of my favorite anime/manga.

I can at least understand why it has the moral it does. "Live your life to the fullest, be careful of your actions to other or they may return to you." It definitely reveals a part of life in Japan... Where the suicide rating is highest, where bullying is an unbelievable problem (I couldn't even accurately try to explain how bad), and where the group will shun the individual. Even child abuse and over rigorous schooling is a theme.
From a human studies aspect, the manga can be very interesting. I always find it interesting to see how the artist reflects the problems of reality.

(I watching an episode and already liking the change. Instead of the student not being believed about bullying, it's that she doesn't want to talk about it. Which is much more realistic.)
