I hated when I "volunteered" to help the elementary teachers and the kids were nuts.

hummy 08-22-2012 10:36 PM

is it just the second graders, Maria?

For the most part the kids are awesome - it's just that one class that makes me want to cry!

yep - just the second grade - the other kids are all, for the most part, well behaved :)

hummy 08-22-2012 10:41 PM

D.J. Dead 08-22-2012 10:42 PM

Maria don't get me wrong kids are awesome! But I have seen enough to know that sometimes they can be down right mean.

hummy 08-22-2012 10:44 PM

aren't they afraid of Mother Superior?
i was!

Maria-Minamino 08-22-2012 10:45 PM

@hummy - haha but if I give him something to occupy his MOUTH he can't TALK XDDD

@DJ - Sometimes they are. My brother was a nut growing up - the teachers hated him. He was just like that boy except my brother had diagnosed adhd whereas that boy's parents refuse to get him tested...so I'm likely to have to deal with his antics for as long as I'm at this school D:

We don't have a mother superior here - no nuns :(

But they are more afraid of the front office staff - so they told me if he gets out of control like that again to call them and they will come take him to the principal's office.

hummy 08-22-2012 10:46 PM

if he is like that in every class i think his parents should be worried.

D.J. Dead 08-22-2012 10:48 PM

Maria hopefully his parents step in and help the child to realize that what he is doing is not very good. I know when my little brother was in elementary school he was actually a great student, but he got picked on a lot. So when he said something the teacher always blamed him, and not the kids who initiated it. And with the way those kids were, if my little brother didn't stand up for himself he would have been bullied to the end. But sticking up for himself always got him in trouble, and almost all the time it was what he was supposed to be doing and what the teachers and principal had told him to do.

Maria-Minamino 08-22-2012 10:48 PM

You would think so - but some parents still believe in the philosophy that "boys will be boys" and it's just a part of growing up. You would think they would be concerned about his acting out in EVERY class. And saying rude and hateful things all the time. But it could be a bad home situation that we don't know about. But the teachers said he was always hyper but this is the first year he's been so crazy. So it seems like something changed over the summer...

hummy 08-22-2012 10:49 PM

i would be worried about his health.

D.J. Dead 08-22-2012 10:50 PM

I'm going to be helping to wash a dog so if I go poof that is where I went and I will be back momentarily [:)]

hummy 08-22-2012 10:51 PM

i hope he learns to control himself.

Maria-Minamino 08-22-2012 10:58 PM

So would I - but there are a lot of parents who don't believe their kid has syndromes and diseases that are in the head....they believe their kid is okay unless they have a fever or they are bleeding. and it's sad to see that!!

hummy 08-22-2012 10:59 PM

hopefully with all of the complaints/concerns they will seek help for him.

Maria-Minamino 08-22-2012 11:06 PM

that's what we're hoping. If they get 4 or 5 phonecalls a week from separate teachers, hopefully it'll raise concern.

D.J. Dead 08-22-2012 11:07 PM

Dog bathed now to do dishes

hummy 08-22-2012 11:12 PM

hopefully we'll all start implementing some strict class rules and get the class into shape.

If I have to, I'll take away their recess for the day or make them sit at lunch detention with me

D.J. Dead 08-22-2012 11:25 PM

Eventually I will do dishes I don't want to do them right now..
