I've looked for them in stores for the past 20 years and just can't find them anywhere! they probably don't even make them anymore. *lament*

I'm really into baking things instead of frying them. the fat and grease makes me sick. and it's just healthier in general. my son has had it for so long, that he prefers his fries, corn dogs, burritos and such baked.

have you tried looking up a recipe for them, maybe?

and that way you can pick the veggies you like!

I would need to get a hold of some sort of mincer ... and as it is, my son doesn't like onion rings, but he loves his veggies, so that works out in the end.

They'd have to have some onion in it though.

once they are in the ring, you can either coat it like flour or dredge it through a batter right before cooking it! you can also dredge it through a batter and then coat it in the flour mix.

Hubby is always doing fish or chicken with a coating, and the coating always comes off when he fries it.

you could give the meat an "egg wash" and then dip it in the coating. I have always had luck with just getting the meat wet with water, adding the coating, and popping it right into the pan. you want to make sure the pan is HOT before doing it though, that way the juices come out of the meat quick which grabs the coating to it. then turn it down.

Sometimes the juices are what pushes the coating OFF the meat.
