Stellar: I'm more a fan of handmade gifties myself - which is what I get for Christmas and Birthdays from my Aussie mate - who I flew down to visit summer before last. Totally epically amazing!
I prefer more personalized gifts myself. Things that are special - one of my favorite winter hats and fingerless gloves are made for me by my Aussie mate. =]
But that's just me. =]
Sadly, due to funds, we're usually stuck to only sending things around November/December (my birthday and Christmas) and then between December and April for me (Christmas and her birthday). But we do 'stalk' each other via FB and talk on the phone every few months, which is awesome. We've got ways of keeping in touch. =]

Although I'm either buying her a Doctor Who mug -- or I'm thinking of making her a photo collage from my visit down there. =] Maybe one for Christmas, the other for her birthday? :P

That was actually completely hilarious, I might add. The random number generator REALLY liked us.
I don't fucking know. For some reason, they all believe that it's the worst game ever, so comparing it to something completely different makes said different thing sound so much better.

You're lucky then. I always have to fight hard against bosses because Random Number Generators hate me with a passion.

@Aine: He has. But when she's at her worst, he's either not there or also a target and too busy defending himself to help anyone else. >_<

@TK: Well, I enjoyed it, personally. I felt like the engine was a good idea, but a bit of a work in progress...a feeling which proved to be correct since it got better in XIII-2. And the story was fun. And everything was shiny! So I have little to complain about.

You know the final boss is vulnerable to Vanille's instant death skill? But it's got something like a 1% chance of working.

...well, last night, for us, it worked the first time.

Making the final boss still the only thing we've managed to make it work on the first time in multiple partial or complete playthroughs.

@Nemo: I love handmade things and personal gifts and the like, too...but all my friends and family are broke and bad at crafts. So that stuff waits for special occasions...and in the meantime, the excitement of getting a package comes from Amazon.

Stellar Delusion: Oh, just getting any kind of package is awesome! Totally agree with you there! I'm currently waiting on a pair of Doctor Who TARDIS socks, which I'm super excited about. *points to self* Major Whovian here!

Me with the hat and gloves that my friend made me last year for Christmas - this picture was taken before I cut 10 1/2 inches of my hair off last December to donate to Locks of Love

(although due to the postal system, I got my Christmas pressie in time for my Birthday, and my birthday present around Christmas.) Oh, the joys of international shipping:

Lavi: But sometimes things are just not meant to be.
I've got a friend right now who I feel really likes me, but the age gap between us, is throwing me off.
I like him, but I can't see anymore than friendship with him. But I know he wants more.

@Aine: It's okay! He tries, he really does. But this woman...honestly? Should have been in jail before I even met Cloud. She's...got issues. And it takes more than one person to deal with her. Especially one stubborn and overly-attached person.

But he does try and he does mean well. He's kind of a clueless ass sometimes, but MOST of the time I can't fault him.

I enjoyed it too and XIII-2 definitely fixed some of the problems with it. The idiots just complain that all you do all game is walk forward and mash A/X. You can do that, but you're going to die in a fire if you do. And even the one that did play it never made it to Gran Pulse. GAH. Not a single one of them has any right to complain about the damn game, having never fucking played it to the end.

Oh, You got really lucky then. I only ever use it as a way to farm Adamantoises on Gran Pulse. Very irritating, but it works and it's much easier to get high level stuff that way.

Stellar: *is still fuming with anger* well when you put it that way. She most likye wouldn't be jailed but put in a physic ward. Question, was she always like this? Or is this a recent devilment?

Yeah, my only complaint about the game is how easy it is in the early portions. It's kinda boring until you get a few hours in...but they improved on that in XIII-2, so it's not a huge complaint because they learned.

Yeah...lucky enough to make us both laugh through the end. Cloud still feels kinda bad about that. But come on, the final battle took less than a minute by sheer dumb luck, that's pretty funny!

@Nemo: Those are really nice! And yeah...shipping makes scheduling pretty interesting sometimes.

Which reminds me, I really hope Cloud's new hard drive gets here soon.

@Aine: I don't know from experience, but according to Cloud she's always been like this to some degree but worsening by a shitload with every episode of medical drama.

Stellar: I love them, and they're so warm! Plus I love the colour! And definitely! Especially when shipping internationally.

When was it ordered? Is there any way to follow it online to see where it is?

It was insanely easy to start with. Once you pass the first 'chapter' however, is started getting significnatly harder. Aster Protoflorian and Odin probably killed me more than anyone except Barthandelus.
XIII-2 was freaking hard. Of course, I was stupid enough to fight atlas without weakening him the first time.

I've played it so much I can kill the final boss in 2-3 attacks, but I've never once managed to get Death to work first try.

@Nemo: We ordered it on Friday. It should be here within a couple of days...but the sooner, the better. We need something other than this old dinosaur!

@Aine: It's okay. I'm pretty good at dealing with unpleasant people. And seeing as I've been managing to at least be a third body to distribute the work to and take some of the load off Cloud, it's worth it. Though I still can't wait to get home.

@TK: For me it was Bahamut that kept kicking my ass. And one vehicle that I forgot the name of. It's the one that goes all crazy after it recovers from stagger. It took me something like 10 losses to realize "...oh...I probably shouldn't stagger it." And, of course, Barthandelus. Though I was able to beat his last appearance without any trouble...I kinda had his shit figured out by then. And in my honest opinion he was kind of a pushover compared to the previous battle with him.

*shudder* I didn't have too much trouble with him, But Bahamut was just plain annoying.
I know which vehicle you mean, I just can't remember the name of it. Guess I was juts lucky when it came to that, I'd nearly killed him after the first stagger, so I didn't get much of berserk mode.
Yeah, 2nd Barthandelus was easily the worst. First was almost an introduction to him, Second was 'I'm going to annihalate you and everything you love' and third was just the second form with a bit more health, which was completely negated by the levels you gain in between.

Anyways, I'm going to head off - watch an episode of Doctor Who (one with Tennant), and then do some studying before going to bed.

And lets not forget that his third form's laser attack didn't nullify your buffs like the second form's did.

@Nemo: Have fun!

...so I just saw a commercial featuring sabre fencing.

...it was a woman fencing herself. In an ad for an air conditioner. I am confused, but highly entertained.

Oh, and I managed to recover my password by using my phone. Still probably won't be posting much until we get that new hard drive because my phone hates Mene, but...at least I have my account? XD;

(This is Cloud, by the way...in case you hadn't figured it out between the familiarity with no posts here under my own account and the hair.)
